Ok, I did a hard reset and gps in google maps is still not detecting any satellites. Also quick gps tries to download and it says "connection failed," what gives? Anyone have any more ideas?

relock

install a stock rom

confirm gps is dead

return for replacement

Make sure your Location is on! I had the same problem, turned that on and all was well!!!good luck...

I find that every once in awhile, the GPS will just be out for a couple of hours no matter what you do. Just have to use Google Map without GPS Nav....

That used to happen too, but I after a soft reset it always worked again. It's been out for 2 weeks now. I'm about to flash the stock rom back on and if it still doesn't work I'm calling sprint.

I heard that in the next couple years that we will not be able to use GPS satellites anymore because the government is going to take them down. Just what I heard. Anyone else hear of this?

That is wrong.

There was an alarmist story published a few weeks back about GPS satellites. The article said that the budget doesn't exist to repair/replace the satellites that will fail in the coming years and that GPS reliability and coverage will be diminished.

Problem was that the article was wrong. The budgets and plans to maintain GPS exist and are not in danger.

What you heard sounds like an uninformed misinterpration of the original article.
