Dashwire does everything automatically, and syncs more than just contacts, and it's free. You can also text and call people straight from the Dashwire site and do other nifty things.

If I backup my contacts using any of these promgrams whether it be PIM Dashwire whatever. Wil they be there when I install a new ROM??? Otherwise how can I back them on on my cpu

Best is to keep contacts on Windows Live - store them in the cloud - Windows Live will sync both email and contacts to your phone.

I use Microsoft MyPhone....love it.

Install the cab and it retrieve everything from the MS server.
Very Fast. Backs up most of the things you want.
Contact,calender,tasks, video ,photo and even your stoarage card if you specify it.

TCB
turbo contact back up is the easiest
cab installed program
all contact back up as well as sim contact back up for sim phones saved as xml file to anywhere you see fit loving it ive been using it since i first got my touch now using for my diamond
