Re: Bluetooth sync for HTC Diamond
You need to put your computer to sharing. So you'd do that via your network settings on your PC and you'd choose, to share. Then you can set what folders to share via right click on them.
If you're just wanting to send files back and forth, since you have bluetooth paired you can just use the send to option by right clickin on any file. But I'm assuming you're wanting to access files on pc without being right in front of it? |

Re: Bluetooth sync for HTC Diamond
My computer is on a network and sharable. My roommates computer has full access to it from his computer. I just dont know how to access the shared folders from my phone.
Yeah, I want to browse my PC from my phone and select which files I want to be sent from computer to my phone so I dont even have to go to my computer. I can do it all on my phone. |

Re: Bluetooth sync for HTC Diamond
Do I need to have any particular kind of Bluetooth dongle on my PC to sync to the PC? I've tried to get sync working to my Vista PC with two different Bluetooth dongles and neither of them would accept the connection. I can pair the phone to the computer for networking and file transfer, but sync doesn't work for me. I wondered if my PC didn't have the correct service installed for Bluetooth or if the dongle didn't support a particular service.

Re: Bluetooth sync for HTC Diamond
Hi Slam... so you have paired. So first off, on pc open bluetooth settings (if not already open) Highlight the phone device , and click the com port tab add new incoming port, it creats a virtual serial port over bluetooth. Now open WindowsMobileDeviceCenter. Click on Mobile Device Settings, then on Connection Settings. Check all the boxes and be sure to select the com port # you just created in the dropdown. Also be sure Bluetooth is turned on. (see screenshot)
On your phone go to start/programs/active sync... when the window opens got to menu/connect via bluetooth.. you should be good to go. I don't have to create a com port on my laptop with vista 64 and built in bluetooth but I do on my desktop vista 32 and bluetooth dongle... |
