I've had my Diamond for 2 weeks without a screen protector. No scratches at all. I don't know what you guys do with yours.

This happened to me exactly. The stylus in the phone scratched the screen in few weeks. When I finally realized that it was the stylus and replaced it with the one in the box, no more scratch. See my post for details.
HTC should be serious about this. |

No way, nothing beats bareback! I didnt even notice there was a screen protector in the box until I saw this thread and went back and looked. I've had mine for almost a month and it has a few minor streaks on the screen, you cant even see them when the screen is on, only when its on standby. Nothing stays new forever, but I must admit I used protection on my previous phone. I stopped using them on my previous unit, a sprint touch. Oh well, to each his own...

Re: Why did my stylus scratch my Brand New Diamond...ugggg
The only sure way to prevent screen scratches is to use a screen protector.
I've found that you can scratch plastic screens with basically anything, including dull stylii and even microfiber cloths. The problem is that there is always the possibility of fine particles of dust or dirt getting trapped between the screen and stylus (or whatever) and dragged over the screen. I put the included screen protector on my Diamond as soon as I got it. The protector is a bit scratched up now, but I don't really care because I know I can replace it. The scratches don't actually have much effect on screen readability. |
