Push Email on Diamond using SMS

Here is a great piece of software that triggers pocket outlook to send/receive based on receiving a SMS.

Set up your email to forward to your phone's text message email address. Once that text is received, outlook checks for new mail.

I found that once I stopped checking for new mail every 15 minutes my battery life really improved. Am I crazy?
