Question From HTC Touch to HTC diamond

hello Everyone, My HTC touch was replaced by a HTC Diamond.
I have all my contacts on my laptop (outlook) and I am not trying yo bring them all into my Diamond. When I connect the phone using the USB the laptop is running Vista OS and I am trying to sync my information using windows mobile Device center. I did remove the 6900 from the windows mobile device but the software is not recognizing the Diamond so I can not the Diamond. What am I doing wrong that I can not sync my contact and caleder from laptop to the Diamond.

The phone I got does not have any software or Cd not the Manual. Please advise. thank you

Re: From HTC Touch to HTC diamond

Before you open WMDC, open up outlook. After outlook loads up completely try and run wmdc and sync. Let me know if that works.

Re: From HTC Touch to HTC diamond

I also went from the touch to the Diamond recently and have had no problems syncing in fact it has been syncing much quicker and been more stable then with the Touch. I agree with gazment, reinstall WMDC then try again. Also try a different USB cable and/or a different USB port, sometimes the simplest things......

Re: From HTC Touch to HTC diamond

Problem is solved. I had to change a setting on my phone. The setting under connection tab in the USB to PC was set to Disk Drive and when I changed it to ActiveSync(Sync with outlook) and when I did start WMDC the connection was there and my calender and contacts are all transferred to my new phone now. Thanks for all your help.
