Never never take it to a service center or put it for warranty repair if you have a custom rom on it. Only reason I did it was because I had no choice.... Luckily mine was so screwed up they never noticed.

Simular story here... PCD appearntly fixed the USB port on my TP. It charges and syncs now, but after the end of the second week while it was in repair, I called and they said "warranty voiding software was found, your warranty is now cancelled"

I had no battery power to reinstall the stock rom, and I was lucky enough that they fixed the device prior to turning it on. Otherwise, if the saw the ROM first, I am sure that I would have had the same USB issue mailed back to me.

O'well... I only had 6 months left, and hell, how many more times will my USB port die to where I even need repair a second time?

Telus Canada.

My USB connection port died too. I took it back to the store because it wouldn't turn on. With Telus you have a warranty for the first year. They ordered me a new one and it came to the store 3 days later. I was told to bring mine in but just the phone not the charger or box or anything. They replaced the phone but still used my battery and back piece. So I assume they just sent off my old phone for repair. They replaced the phone before knowing the problem so I was fine.
