Uh oh, diamond won't turn on or charge - Page 2

Was it hanging at the Touch Diamond screen?

What did you change that that would cause this?

Because today my phone hung at the Touch Diamond screen, wouldn't boot up. Soft resets did nothing, holding the 3 buttons caused a beeping noise.

Had to hard reset at school -_-

heh, if you were able to hard reset, your one step better than where i'm at.

I can't even get this thing to power on or hard reset. I just pray it's so far gone that they can't tell the rom was re-flashed and the phone was unlocked.

well It's all boxed up and i'm shipping it tonite, wish me luck D:

Are you still at the Touch Diamond screen? I was so worried. I tried for like 15 mins to hard reset, finally managed to get my friend to help push in the stylus, got it resetted.

Do you have any idea what caused it?

use the 4 button "hard reset" (hold vol down+center d pad button+back+power) until you get the bootloader screen. plug the phone into the computer and flash the stock shipped ROM.

I thought it was vol down, enter, reset, power.

blah i've heard so many variations of the hard reset today it's just baffling lol.

well it's out of my control for now, my diamond is off in a box to PDC for repair/replacement. Crossing my fingers now.

It's VOL DOWN + Center Dpad + reset + power.

It worked for me, hopeflly they don't discover your ROM

Wow,

Just got the phone back, right in time from my trip back from Europe.
Looks like they replaced the mainboard and the whole process from me shipping it out to back took a bit under 2 weeks.

Whew, I guess leaving your phone on too long w/ the backlight on can fry the mainboard.

nope, guess they never found out it was a custom rom installed.
makes sense I guess if the mainboard was completely fried and had to be replaced.

A question - if you download a rom, have problems, and go to service center.
with insurance, do they fix it? Do you tell them about custom rom? Do they trade you out? Is $55 standard charge or because you didn't have insurance.

This is one reason I am not flashing, worried about the "what if . . ." Mine just fried, got replaced on standard rom last week, new one just got hard reset

and now starating over. Don't know if I fixed problem or not since I don't know what it was.
