Re: Windows 7 Flashing

Yeah, it should be able to be installed next to XP, the only problem your going to have is somehow resizing the partition that XP is on down, unless your going to install both OS fresh, you can do half of your HDD XP and half of your HDD windows 7, Just make sure youh ave enough room for both. Windows 7 is a big install.

I think he can use Partition Magic or other disk tool to resize on the fly. Just like GTO said, either have a lot of space on a new partition, or maybe even add a new physical drive. I mean, how much is 1 TB these days? Under $200?

Re: Windows 7 Flashing

I've got 2x250GB HDDs. One has all storage and about half full. The other is my OS drive- Has XP and most of my programs- only about 100GB used. Maybe less.

Re: Windows 7 Flashing

Im so relieved, I finally got my computer reformatted, to run windows 7 and sync properly. I had it working "out the box" with the leaked Beta, but ever since i reformatted and installed the Official Beta, the Mobile Device center drivers got corrupted, simple uninstall and reinstall of WMDC does the trick. Tethering and Flashing works flawlessly and i just noticed i can uninstall programs from my Touch Pro though the mobile device center

Re: Windows 7 Flashing

ask microsoft...
oops. thats right they won't answer you til the day after you find out its released.

in the end, i believe we all hope that it will be way before this time next year that we all will be flashing windows mobile 7 onto or devices with windows 7 final on our pcs

but at the rate microsoft seems to be goin with things, we might have a 6.5.1.2.3.5 next month and then 2 months later we get 6.6.6.2.3 oh well i gotta learn to quit ranting about major corps suckin big balls

yes you can install windows 7 alongside xp ,just use gparted or another partition tool to make a new partition for it ,as far as flashing a rom I have done it several times on windows 7 just set the ruu to run in administrator mode ,but I always got weird errors trying to cook a rom

Re: Windows 7 Flashing

I have windows 7 and absolutely for the life of me couldnt get flashing to work using windows mobile device center, so i downloaded sun virtualbox, installed xp virtually inside of windows 7, and whenever i want to flash, i open the virtual XP inside of windows seven and flash with that. Seems to work flawlessly to me. Its a good work around, but i wish there was an easier way, but atleast this way i dont have to reboot between partitions and copy and transfer files everytime... i can run windows 7 and windows xp at the same time in the same window this way, its nice.
