not sure, but I think it's the capacative touch function of the button panel that detects when you get close to the panel and focuses before you hit the button to take the pic.

That first pic is not entirely focused. But yeah, the camera can do pretty decent macros for a phone camera. Not "pro-quality" by any stretch of the imagination though. There are consumer level fixed lens cameras that can focus down to the lens itself (Canon S3, S5 for example)

OK, here is a real new trick to get pro-closeup down to 2 cm objects: put a cheap $0.99 magnifier before the camera.
BTW, I sent these photos directly from my Diamond to Google's picasaweb through email. In Picasaweb's settings, you can setup a special email address for accepting photos into your albums. Then just email to the address with a subject of album title, very handy. ![]() ![]() |
