LOL, that is Alltel's network and therefore the grandfathered roaming agreement with Alltel. It has nothing to do with Sprint's original and existing roaming agreement with Verizon. You're trying too hard.

Ok...So, you're telling me that now that the Altel and Verizon networks are shared and it is all Verizon's footprint now. That Verizon is actually differentiating which specific towers are being roamed on by Sprint? Gimme a break. Sprint can and does roam on Verizon EVDO.

Im not trying hard. Trust me.

Are you suggesting that Altel and Verizon has already completed their network and therefore billing integration?

Are you suggesting that there is no way for Verizon to differentiate between Altel cell site and Verizon website and therefore MUST turn on DO for all to honor their roaming agreement between Altel and Sprint?

Are you suggesting that, here in the Los Angeles area, where there is no Altel cell sites, that Verizon simply turns DO roaming on for Sprint simply because of their inherited agreement between Altel and Sprint (and that they cannot identify an Altel user versus Sprint user)?

Are you suggesting that all of the Sprint readers on this forum all now can roam on DO on Verizon's network?

If so, it would make the OP's question moot, for he would already be roaming on DO! Keep believing it dude--it's Christmas! Yea, I trust YOU! LOL!

Ok. I live in CT where there are no Altell sites, and I roam on EVDO. Who would you say I am roaming on? Hmm...lets see. Verizon maybe?

And it doesn't make his question "moot". You will not roam all the time without doing the registry edits so that you can select side B to always roam. Without it, unless you have no coverage at all on sprint, you will not roam (obviously). That is the whole point of roaming. So, for those that have Sprint coverage (1x), and do not roam because of it, you can force your phone to roam and perhaps get on Verizon EVDO. Which I and others are doing.

But, anyways, again, I live in CT where there are no Altell sites, and I roam on EVDO. Who's network would you say I am roaming on?

hey guys. i read up on this thread and the other one provided on the first page. essentially I was interested in getting ev roaming coverage in my basement. i do get ev occasionally but it usually switches over to 1x or roaming. by doing this registry edit then, I can in theory select 'Automatic B" and see if I roam on evdo with verizon? I guess it wouldnt hurt to try it but I would only use this in my basement which would not be all the time. does this make sense. i guess if it doesnt work I just dont need to select automatic b or if things go south a trusty hard reset can fix it. what are your thoughts. thanks again for this!

update: I went to do this but my item count says 5 not 2. not sure why? I am using mighty 3.8 with the telus radio 1.04.05v.

I would't hurt to try. If it doesn't work for you, you can just revert the reg edits, Unselect Automatic A, or Hard reset (last resort, don't think you'll need to).

I hope you have good results.

thanks man. by the way, I edited my earlier thread mentioning that my item count is 5 not 2 meaning without me making any changes it was already 5. should I change 5 to 3 and see what happens? also, if it doesnt work out, I guess I should change it back to 5.

Sure, why not. You can always change it back.

When you test, be sure to soft reset to make sure that the edits take effect.
