lol true, but its not so much bashing, as his opinion, but blah, yea buddy, sorry you dropped the phone, i wish there was something that could be done to get you a new phone, but telus does have anything like that. I wish you good luck in your search for a new phone.

But just as a point to all those bashing the op, it happens sometimes, i dropped my htc touch once, you never know what the situation is. Sometimes shi*it happens!

Well when you own and run a business that sells hardware you can see my point of being angry. Customers abuse their stuff and then complain because it breaks and was a refund or a replacement. The guy proves he is a shady person just by asking would telus replace it. Then when he finds out no they wont he starts bashing the equipment.

I sold a high end gaming system to a guy who went into the bios and messed all the settings up and then expected me to fix it for free. Then he dropped the entire machine while moving and expected me to honor the warrenty.

Re: Cracked Screen & other damage.

Dear dcperdue,

I have to disagree with you on several points. But before i begin realize that these are my views based on my experience, yours may differ.

First & foremost, the build quality of the Diamond is by far inferior to any device I've ever owned, and I've had a few. Sure i dropped the phone, i get it. But that doesn't change the fact that the phone was almost a total loss after a 4 foot drop (*edit: actually i just measured and it was a 2'9" drop). The back cover is only slightly more rigid than cardboard. This is my second Diamond, the first one was missing the 4GB internal storage completely!!!

Second, where are these apps that you speak of? I'm not talking about the ones the good people of these forums are dedicating their spare time too. I'm talking about actual developer apps for productivity and entertainment alike, & support from HTC, which is non-existent. Don't even think about comparing Iphone appstore with what's available from HTC.

Third, parts. Why is it impossible to find stock replacement parts for my Diamond. Maybe you know of some magical place where i can find a replacement back cover for it, and you're not sharing? If so shame on you! Actually, come to think of it, i don't want a stock cover, i need something a little more sturdy because because my tiny little arms can't handle the weight of the phone.

If you read my post cearly, you would have seen that I actually tried to liked the Diamond, specifically because of Juicy, Mighty, Juggalo & all the wonderful people who devote their valuable time to make everyones experience better. Unfortunately my experience hasn't been so and i sincerely hope that yours isn't the same.

LOL google ppc apps thousands. And the drop depends on how the phone lands. I dropped my touch and it happened to land on its power button and even with a rubber glove on it the button detached from the board.

As I said dont bash on the device because it didnt stand up to your abuse. No where in the manual does it say will survive a 4 foot drop. I suspect the only reason your on this forum is because you had a diamond. So go grab a kids toy iphpone and head over to the iphone forum. And yes I had an iphone both versions and for business perposes the blow. They are for kids verry few people over 25 own one. This is a proven statistical fact from mr blow jobs ehem i mean steve jobs himself.

Re: Cracked Screen & other damage.

ok guys, lets be civil and not get out of hand. dcperdue i understand ur concerns working in the business industry, and there are the specific number of shady people who try and pass off damage as manufacture defect, but to assume so about the op without any information is wrong. You cannot assume that the op is a shady person.

and no where in the thread did battlekat say that he was looking to get the device replaced by telus for no cost, rather he was trying to find out a way to have the options available to him to have the phone repaired/replaced.

dcperdue, imho i think u maybe taking it a bit far. everyone has a right to post opinions without being bashed/flamed for it. there are many other threads on this forum in which people say that the diamond was not for them and they would have thrown it in the garbage, let alone many people complain about the build quality of the diamond as well.

yes, i LOVE the phone. it's the best phone i've ever had, but again, thats my opinion.

like i said before, everyone has a right to their opinion. so let's leave it at that!

Re: Cracked Screen & other damage.

Closed. I know it's the holiday season and everyone can get a bit stressed at times...but damn, without calling anyone out, y'all need to chill out!

Last time I checked PPCGeeks was more than just a phone forum, but a community of respectful, intelligent, and diverse people. As being part of this community everyone, EVERYONE, has a responsibilty to the 180,000+ members of this place. And your main responsibility is to at all times to be on your best behavior. I don't care if you have 18 posts or 2,800 posts. As soon as you log in to this community the expectation is that you will behave yourself. We don't have a bunch of rules here because for the most part we like to be a bit more open minded and tolerant of issues. Emphasis on the word "issues". We are not, however, tolerant of members being attacked or being insulted. It doesn't matter if you just recently joined our community or have been with us for 2 years...the expectation is the same.

So sack up everyone....and have a merry xmas.

late,
Coz
