Not much at all, but it has.
Sorry to hear. I'm still thinking that masking tape and spray paint is the way to go (for the USB area also). Want to first get an extra back to try it on, though.

Re: DIY Black battery cover

I havent had any color rub off at all. But then again I have 10 covers and rotate them to match my fits. When i use mine for extended amounts of time and hold it in my hands I still dont get any bleeding and Im in health care and use alcoholic hand sanitizer all day long.

Re: DIY Black battery cover

So i held my breath and went for it...

I even died it TWICE just to get a good solid black... the pics are a lil light cuz of the flash, but it IS BLACK!

after i completed the task, it seemed like the finish was kinda scratchy, so i took my microfiber screen cloth and rubbed it in and now it looks FLAWLESS!

2 coats, half hour worth of work... i'll get back if the fading begins..

the hand sanitizer is prolly helping you greatly ... along with the fact that you have so many to rotate....

i've keep the same cover on for this entire time so it's all i use... and as i said i used it virtually the entire time i was on the road... came a way with mild case of 'black hand'...

Re: DIY Black battery cover

just like to mention that my cover is flaking off at the edge near the stylus. you know how you have to use your nail to "dig" the stylus out a bit? well my nail makes contact with the back cover too and i can clearly see the burgundy now, as if the dye was just a coating and not absorbed into the case.

however i only cooked my cover for 5 min as oppposed to the 15 min many other's went with.

you're absolutely right... i even did it twice for 15 mins each and its still a coating... i've got a case of the black-hand... lol... i was sitting in class a felt like the kid that doesn't shower lol..

but yeah, unfortunately, if you use your phone for like 10 mins at one time and get semi hot palms, you're probably gunna get some bleeding...

my only SOLUTION to this would be to dye it and then apply the Invisible Shield... then its a for sure thing!
