Re: Diamonds on eBay

I bought a diamond from the vegasgoin guy, aka dmilton (i assume as the sales page was exactly the same). I ended up filing a paypal claim and it was immediately escalated and after the waiting period I got my money back no problem. I also recently sold a personal phone on ebay and paypal is holding my funds until the time has past for a claim to be filed. it's sort of annoying, but seeing how the system worked to get me reimbursed, i understand.

Also, I found the person that had the paypal acct for the vegasgoin transaction and spoke with her father and emailed with her. She is a 20ish year old mormon girl who had her identity stolen. She said she has all the different names being used on ebay with her identity and that the FBI and state are investigating.

On another note, I ended up buying a Diamond off Ebay from a power seller with 6 years of history and like 2000+ transactions and 99.8 satisfaction. Phone came straight from him - i received it 2 weeks ago. Interesting thing, he's now no longer a registered user - just like that. I haven't had any problems, the phone was brand new in original packaging and never opened. I just wonder why after being a long time ebayer he was pulled?

I had the same thing happen - I bought from ariasss1 (Natalia Draghi) and my phone came in original packaging with no Asurion markings at all. She had lots of positive feedback, but suddenly she and all her listings disappeared. A tech at the local Sprint store said he thought it was an insurance phone, so I opened a Paypal case. She responded that all her phones had come from "a Sprint store that closed". I have called both Sprint and Asurion but neither can tell me whether the ESN is okay.

Why can't Sprint tell you if the ESN is ok? They have told me both over e-chat and the phone before.

Asurion says they have no way to look up ESNs. Sprint says the ESN does not belong to a phone that has been reported stolen, but they can't tell if it is from Asurion or not.

Yes, and to Sprint, that means the ESN is "fine", or so I've been told by numerous Sprint employees.

Asurion can't look up ESNs and Sprint can't tell if it's from them? What kind of company is this? No wonder people are scamming phones from them left and right...

Re: Diamonds on eBay

The reason some people get a phone without any insurance papers is because they remove them and re shrinkwrap the box. Inside information straight from paypal the 2 users that had a long track record of positives were under investigation by the attorney general and the fbi. They were fileing insurance claims having the phones sent to them directly and re packaging the phones. Both of them had storefronts in their local area and had access to sprint and vzw customer databases. Some of the other sellers who had bad feedback and were doing refunds because the 2 major ones were getting shut down which means the others couldnt get phones.

You will see this in the news soon. Not sure what the outcome will be but I suspect a couple of theese people did not know they were buying from crooks so as long as the cooperate they might be off the hook. I mean at least they did refund people so that does show some type of honesty in their defense.

I mean ive been thinking about starting up a cricket store in my area. Know a few people who have and theese phones sell like freaking hotcakes. I did the website for a franchise and he was making so much money and that was just off markups. Immagine theese guys getting theese things for FREE at $250 a pop and you know they have sold thousands of them in the past 4 or 5 months. That is tempting for any shady person, easy money.

My favorite ebay scam was the guy selling plasma tv's when they first came out. He would list a 60" plasma for 5k and at the time that was less then half the price. In a month he made over 3 mil. when he got shut down and went to court here is what happened. His listing read check out the picture of this 60 inch plasma bla bla. And what he sent people for there 5k was just that a 35mm photograph of a 60" plasma. And the sad thing is the case was dropped. LMFAO
