I understand that, but once you received the phone with the information that it was an insurance replacement, what did you do about it? Did you contact Sprint and Asurion and are you working with them to go after the scammer who sold the phone to you. If you keep the phone knowing this, why shouldn't someone press charges as you are knowingly keeping stolen property.

This is why I am working with Sprint's fraud department and have not gone to the police. I will let them decide who should be charged for this. I do not want to F***** an innocent person over. The fact is, it is a stolen phone, your actions what you do with it after you found out it was an insurance scam determines what happens to you.

I take exception with this statement as the paperwork that came with the phone uses acronyms and most people would not even know it was a scam, only that it was drop shipped from an address in Kentucky.

Is it common knowledge?................or your's and someone elses.

Point being is that I really think that people who are blaming the buyers are way off. I surely did not have any idea that I would be receiving a scammed phone when I paid for it. Being condescending towards people who this happened to is not constructive and you all need to STFU unless you have something useful or helpful to say.

First off, no one has proven without a doubt all of these transactions are a product of fraud. As it stands right now, it's all a bunch of speculation by posters on an internet forum. I personally called Sprint twice as well as Asurion and they both said this was not a problem, so let's try and stop with the fear mongering and accusing people of being in possession of stolen property.

So let me get this straight... You called them and explained the situation of receiving a phone that was obviously linked to someone else's account, that you aren't that person, and they said it was not a problem?

If this is accurate, and sprint is good about taking these charges off of the fraud victims' accounts, then all of us might be out of the water on this one.

I spoke with 2 different people, one who I demanded bring this situation to his manager. I was put on hold for about 5 minutes while he went and spoke to his manager about this, so all 3 individuals assured me this was legitimate.

Not fully convinced, I then called Asurion. Asurion told me not to worry, that since the ESN was able to be activated by Sprint that everything was ok. I repeated my story to her and she said it was no problem

I would hope that both companies would not be so negligent as to just ignore my concerns, but unfortunately it's not impossible that they did so.

Yea, well since this whole theory is speculation in the first place, I'm going to go with the speculation that DOESN'T make me lose sleep.

Until I see otherwise, I'm no longer worrying about this.

I recieved a phone from cbecker08. It came overnighted from sprint as a replacement. I called sprint and assurion. They both told me it was there mistake, I should not have recieved the phone. They said since it was their mistake, there was nothing I could do through them... I have to contact ebay and paypal.

The scam I got was a little different though. On the reciept, it had a different account number, but -> the authorization code was all zeros, it should have been populated<- This smells like an inside job to me.

Now, with me knowing it was a scam, me going out of my way losing 1 hr of minutes on the phone with sprint and 45 minutes with assurion to show its a scam and they do nothing in return, are you going to sue me too?

Lets see in all my posts I re-read over and over, I am unable to find the part where I said I was going to sue someone. I think if you would have stopped and thought before that last comment you would see that I said people should work with Sprint's fraud department. If they are not going to do anything about it, that is up too them, not me. What else should you do about it, not sure as you contacted Sprint and Asurion.

All I know is my account was used for this scam and I did not buy a phone off ebay. How would you feel if someone was using your account for insurance fraud, I think you would work to press charges against them also. Anyhow, hopefully Sprint and Asurion have a trail to follow to bring the scammers to justice, not anyone that was scammed either by buying a phone or had their account used as part of it.

Re: Diamonds on eBay

I bought one from "alayou" on ebay, has 100% feedback and lots of feedback, so I was good with that. Haven't had a single problem with it, activation was kind of rough because the people at sprint are morons, but hardly the fault of the seller. I got it in a decent amount of time. (for ebay) Been running for over a month with no issues.
