Now that I think about it, that's probably the best reason to be able to have a SD Card slot.

Have you got a different cable to try.

My old Touch usb socket was near end of life pretty quick.

Just curious...have any of you tried going to start<settings<connections<usb to pc and make sure Activesynce is selected and then uncheck (or check) the "Enable advanced network fuctionality" Box to see if it fixes the issue?
