Failed USB?

Maybe someone can help me out here...

I am having a problem with connecting my Diamond to my computer.
I've had the phone since release, have unlocked & flashed a number of times with no issues.

Now, I can't even connect to my computer (or another one...)
I get no popup on the screen of the phone or computer saying its been connected... It does not automatically goto disk drive or activesync.

I am leaning towards my USB port being toast, but I can still charge the phone...

Is it physically possible for the usb port to be able to charge but not communicate?

Re: Failed USB?

I tried flashing (internal storage) to Juicy 3.1... same issue.
Connecting to a computer does not bring up anything at all...
What rom did you flash? Maybe I can try that.

Nosferatu, might be a dumb question but did you check your settings in
Start/settings/connections/usb to PC ?
Maybe try checking the option to 'ask about connection type when I connect'.

Re: Failed USB?

Yeah, I have checked all USB settings... changed them back and forth.
I have tried soft boots, hard boots, flashing...
Nothing changes.

Any other ideas?
If not.. any clue how Best Buy is with nonstock/unlocked phones?
I can flash back to stock but don't think I can relock it...

It kind of sounds like your usb is *^$%'ed
You can relock it, just read the instructions here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062

But if you're usb is pooched it might be a pain getting the thing flashed and locked. You might want to download the files to your phone and try flashing from the internal storage:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=40490

I've used the method to flash back and forth many times, works well!
Oh and Bestbuy is pretty good with returns but it depends on how long you've had it and all that. I've heard many times people returning unlocked phones and never hearing twice about it. But at your own risk!

It may be that you have a bad/missing pin in your connector. Refer to this thread for more detail.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...540#post410540

If this is the case, you can definitely stop troubleshooting your software because you will need to have the connector repaired/replaced. Hope this helps!

Re: Failed USB?

I think thats it then..
I didn't know the pinout for the USB port, but if its 2 for power and 2 for data.. im 100% sure thats the issue.

I guess its time to find a way to relock without a USB connection.
Otherwise I'll just flash stock and see what BB says.

Thanks for the help guys.
