Re: Random Act of Kindness.....

When I was working at my old Sprint store I did some pretty good acts of kindness.

Re: Random Act of Kindness.....

There seems to be a little, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, interest in what the girl in question looked like and the possibility of ulterior motives on my part. To quell any random thoughts in that direction: She wasn't hot at all. She was actually kinda mousy looking (not that it would have made a difference to me-- I'm 57 and happily married for almost 35 years).

But what impressed me was that, although it was clear she wanted that Diamond desperately, she knew she couldn't afford the $120-- and rather than pull out a credit card, she decided to walk away. Now, I'm a guy who's never paid a penny in credit card interest (one of the reasons I was able to retire at the age of 45)-- so when I saw that she was going to do the fiscally responsible thing, so rarely seen these days, I wanted to reward her for it.

Re: Random Act of Kindness.....

Thumbs up OP, very cool.

Reminds me of the time there was a little in a store holding some kind of toy. She must have stood there for 20 minutes staring at it. She asked her mom if she could get it about 10 times. Her mom never yelled or got mad, she just simply explained that she didn't have the money over and over.

So i dropped a twenty behind the little girl as I walked by, then turned to her, pointed at the floor and said, "hey i think you dropped your money". So she put the toy back, runs to the register and hands it to the clerk and says, "someone lost their money". The honesty floored me. After explaining what i did to the clerk, she announced to the little girl that the person who lost it called and said she could keep it. The little girl lit up as I suggested that she could get the toy she wanted now. She ran back and got 2 of them, I said wow 2? She said yea, 1 for me and 1 for my little sister. Her mom "mouthed" the words "thank you" to me and I left.

Give and it shall be given......
