EVDO vs WIFI

i was trying wifi lately, and it hooked up very nice. at school we get free wifi, so i am thinking whats faster to use that or stick with wifi? i am also concerned about wifi draining more battery, and i don't want that.

you mean stick with EVDO, but it should be faster on wifi... but much more battery.

depends on evdo speeds and what you wanna do, but like tobeychris said, battery life will go down quicker on wifi

One thing I noticed, is that even after you launch WiFi, the phone continues to use the EVDO connection. You have to manually bring up the connection manager and stop the data connection in order for it to use the WiFi adapter. In fact it can take several tries to make it stop using the data connection via the connection manager before it actually sticks. You can tell that it's using EVDO by the data arrows being active.
