Re: S9 Bluetooth Headphones and Diamond

my guess is bad phone, likely the antenna. I know this is a diamond thread, but if they're like the pro, the antenna's are just foil stickers under the battery cover.

Been trying to get mines to work since I got my Diamond almost 3 months ago. Same thing here, was flawless on my Touch. I gave up........

Re: S9 Bluetooth Headphones and Diamond

Well, I ordered an advance replacement handset. I'll post back if the new one works better.

Re: S9 Bluetooth Headphones and Diamond

New phone arrived and bluetooth is better but still no where near as good as Touch was. Almost useable now but seems to be finicky about where it is - lots of skipping if phone is in my pocket - works better if I put in case it came with on my belt. Just annoying since this (S9) worked so well with the Touch. I also tried with a Jabra BT1040 and same drop out problem. I'm surprised so few people seem to have this problem, maybe very few use bluetooth to listen to music.

FWIW, I could not restore to new phone with Sprite Backup, which I have used for years. Tried SPB Backup and it worked perfectly first time. I have so much stuff on phone it takes hours to restore from scratch, one reason I have not tried different ROM's. Maybe I will give that a shot now hoping that SPB Backup will restore most of my stuff.

Re: S9 Bluetooth Headphones and Diamond

yeah i have pretty much the same problem except as long as i'm in doors the s9 with the diamond work fine the second i go out side though it cuts in and out so bad that it's pretty much useless. good news for me though i only bought the s9 to use while either lifting weights or running on a treadmill, both in my spare room

I kinda always figured though that it had something to do with my giant head blocking the signal outside

I have the HD's, overall they are great for around the house, but horrible once you get outdoors (cuts out constantly on my IPOD/Diamond).

sound quality is pretty good though

Re: S9 Bluetooth Headphones and Diamond

Wow - never saw this thread... I boutgh my S9's from TigerDirect.com for under $50 and they work great on my Mogul, Diamond, Touch Pro, and Pre. I can even set my phone on my desk and walk in and out of my shop with music playing or in a phone call. The only time they cut out is if I am like 30 ft away. Then I take 2 steps back and just fine. It might be the individual build of the headphones I guess.

Re: S9 Bluetooth Headphones and Diamond

If I have the Diamond sitting on a desk indoors the S9 works well and has reasonably good range. As soon as you go outdoors and move around (headset and phone both moving) the reception is lousy. If you stand still reception is good and if handset is still but you move around it's OK. Maybe the transmit signal is just weak - indoors works better because any hard surfaces will reflect the signal in multiple directions. In any case it's quite annoying as I mainly use headset outside and never had any problems with the Touch.

I was really hoping to use this set to run with and it is unusable for that, very big disappointment for me
