Re: Battery life is a joke

MightyMikes new rom is giving me the best battery life I ever had with the phone. I can finally sleep overnight and not worry about having my phone be dead in the morning

Re: Battery life is a joke

what I found made a huge difference to my battery life is how often your diamond is checking for mail....i made it less frequently and then check manually when I'm curious and its helped a lot

Re: Battery life is a joke

But that didn't really fix any problems, did it? It's an issue in the phone programming not with the actual batteries.

Re: Battery life is a joke

So far, just following the same rules that get me ~9 hours or so on my laptop have been working well on the Diamond w/ Stock Sprint ROM plus the usual registry tweaks.

1) Screen set to min brightness (well, one step above actually - I've had bad experiences with badly designed circuity killing off my screens early if dimmest setting was used - looking at you Motorola RAZR) helps the most - backlight kills your life. Its a phone, so just turn around or cup your hand over it in sunlight.

2) I don't have a dataplan, so my radio is pretty much quiet except for normal cellular usage/polling with towers. I turned off beam, and only turn on Wifi/BT when needed.

3) I leave it in its cradle when I get home, so its always topping off and such. After 14/15 hours day, using GPS for 2 hours (on the drive to/from work, just for fun), I still get home with 2 bars, sometimes 3.

Moral of story, turn down your backlight!

Incorrect. You can't receive bluetooth obex transfers without the beam option being on......that option is not just for an infrared port, but bluetooth as well. Thats why it drains your battery faster when it is on. Has nothing to do with a missing infrared port (which as its missing, wouldn't use any power anyways).

lol.....why wouldn't you charge it overnight while your sleeping? That would've relieved some of your worries.

Re: Battery life is a joke

Re: Battery life is a joke

with stock sprint rom and radio batt life is piss poor.
with telus radio and ntt/juicy rom batt life is piss poor.

i got all the tweaks down like mail set to manual download, backlight down/shutdown after x-mins, beam off, closing all open apps, etc etc. everything i can think of including built in rom tweaks by the creators.

i can fully charge the phone to 100%, let the phone auto-off and i wake up after about 8-9 hours and the phone is down to 90%

WHAT the EFF

what can possibly be draining the batt that much when its off??
