I found this website. its not as cool cuz you have to type in the upc number instead of taking a scanning the bar code but its a start.

I haven't gotten it to actually scan yet, but after reading about a new pic mail app on wmexperts, and searching around on http://softwarestore.sprint.com/wap/phones.php I ran into ScanLife-Barcode Scanner file under free programs for the diamond. Anyway, here's a link to the cab, and let us know if anyone can actually scan anything successfully.

seems like its camera isnt good, very low quality so i wasnt able to get any positive results. it was probably made for a different device which had a camera usable by this app.

I found QuickMark and I-nigma. Both work well except I cannot scan standard barcodes like what Americans see on a cereal box (Which is what I am guess we are looking for here?). These prgrams scan 2d bar codes.

P.S. I have really no idea what I am doing. I do not know the real difference between standard bar codes and 2d barcodes other than I have never seen a 2d barcode on anything I have ever bought. I was curious about a bar code scanning program but never bothered to look around for one. I don't think these are what everyone is looking for though.

I was looking at this tonight, just to see what might be available for the touch pro. I don't have the phone yet but I was searching for a barcode reader and came across this SKD Demo. http://www.mobileama.com/Barcode.htm
