the camera is horrible. anyway to make it better?? 5+ seconds for a pic and if someone moves its messed up.. video camera is useless.. love the rest of the phone though

I never have high expectations of cell phone cameras. I'm impressed that it has autofocus and not just some crappy pin-hole focus. You can only do so much with software and the issues you're talking about are really hardware.

The reason the camera might be "messing up" is really that you're trying to take a pic in a low-light situation. With no way to adjust the ISO (the sensor's speed), the shutter has to stay open longer in low-light situations in order to capture enough light to produce an image. Since that is a hardware flaw, programmers can't really do much to compensate.

i dont see how a lower end camera phone (sprint's samsung m630 highnote) can take a photo as soon as you press the button but all htc phones are slow to react. the quality of the photos are great, but the 2 second delay is annoying!

Lower end phones do not have auto focus. You're waiting for 2 seconds because you're waiting for the focus drive motors to react. It behaves very well for a phone with an auto focus camera. If you want point-and-shoot camera capabilities, buy a point-and-shoot camera.

i think the camera is killer. maybe you should give it some time. i also like the vids. ive taken. i take pics of my bird and hes always moving. they turn out great. lots of setting that may fix your problems.
