Quick question before flashing juicy 2.3

hey, i am about to flash juicy 2.3. the battery is well beyond 50% probably in 75%

i hav the unlocker, hspl 057, and juicy 2.3

before i begin, should i put the phone in airplane mode? turn off the phone function and data, for extra security.

also, after unlocking it, do i need to flash hspl057 or can i proceed straight to juicy 2.3

btw i am on telus cdma diamond.
