Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

The main issue why I didn't want to consider the PRO was cause on my mogul, the keys on the keyboard started to be flaky and less responsive. Some keys that were used most needed to be pushed in harder and harder as time went by. I figure that is just simple hardware wear and tear from use. BUT with an on screen keyboard, you simply do not run into that issue.

The other part with my mogul that I had a complaint about was the sliding out mechanism. After a little over a year of sliding up and down, the screws started to get loose. I took apart the phone myself and just simply tightened the phone with an eyeglass set of screw drivers. Not a hard job, but no fun if it keeps happening.

These are the issues that keep me from going PRO.

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I loved my 6700 before getting a Touch. I miss the keyboard at times but I'm not a HUGE texter. I don't do many of htem, and they're usually small. The onscreen keyboard works fine for me and I've really been picking up speed with it.

Size is huge for me. I hate being one of those guys that wears the little phone on their belt, just looks geeky to me. I like it in my pocket. The 6700 and even the mogul I had for a short time after just was too bulky for it. I didn't mind carrying it in my pocket, but far too often I'd choose to leave it in the car or at the house rather then take it on a short errand simply because I didn't want to feel it the whole time. With the touch, I was able to put it in my pocket and forget it was there. Even a shirt pocket, which the mogul/6700 both would weigh down.

The size of the diamond is a huge selling factor for me.

Along with that, I like teh internal storage. One less thing I need to buy, and after years of using PocketPC's with at most 1 gig worth of card memory, having 4 gigs is going to seem like a Terabyte to me

The size is significant enough to notice. No thanks.

There is already a CAB for haptic feedback. Try searching XDA forums. I'm sure it kills your battery though.

Besides, the Pro is smaller than the Mogul, and I've never really thought the Mogul is that bulky of a phone.
Supposedly the Diamond has TV out capabilities. At least the hardware is there but the software is not enabled. Keeps your eyes peeled for further developments.

I don't know why people keep bringing up the expandable SD slot. If you really need more than 4 gigs on your phone then you're going to be using it A LOT...way more than what the standard battery can support in a single day. That means you'll probably have to get an extended one which will make the phone even that much bigger.

I couldn't agree more.

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I exchanged my Touch Pro for a Diamond, yesterday. The only thing I will personally miss is the flash on the camera, which I did use quite a bit. I prefer the Diamond's size and that one-piece construction. Given the silly dongle required to use a car stereo adapter or off-the-shelf headphones, I discovered I wasn't using the TP as a music player. I love this little phone - I hate Windows Mobile. Maybe I'll get up the courage to update the OS to Android when it gets the bugs out.

Thanks for listening - tip your waitresses.

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

Personally the thinner would be better esp since i dont text. However the camera flash was just a total bad move, i mean the camera is amazing on my Fuze and it would be on the Diamond if they had included flash.

For those looking for some response when using the SIP keyboard. Try touchresponse from xda.

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I bought my sis a pro from the Best Buy deal. There are many pluses to it, but I'm so used to the Diamond that I can hold off buying one for myself at 200. I love the fact that the Diamond is so slim and is just as powerful.
