Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I am going for the pro! I am used to a hardware keyboard and I miss it. Size is not much different! Pro on left!

I second that. I've had the Treo 700wx, the Mogul, and now the Touch and I can tell you I miss the HELL outta those keyboards.

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I held a touch pro demo unit yesterday. Damn its a tough decision. I can live without a hardware keyboard, and 4g of ram is plenty for me. However, its the flash I want the most. The Tpro is skinnier than the mogul width wise of course. We will have to see come Oct 17th

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I have thought about switching to the pro for some time now. I have had treo, mogul and a touch. After using the Touch for a while then the Diamond I have to say im getting pretty good with the onscreen keyboard so Im gonna stick with the smaller phone.

Personally after watching many youtube videos and many pictures I find that im not a big fan of the way the Sprint Pro looks. The curved look all that chrome and the silver back is just ugly to me. They should of left the looks of the gsm pro alone.

I'm planning on swapping mine out, but I think I would be satisfied if I had to stick with the diamond... with a Telus back, of course.

Besides, the Pro is smaller than the Mogul, and I've never really thought the Mogul is that bulky of a phone.
Same here 4GB is not enough room for my musical taste.

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

For me, I think the Diamond is what I'm staying with. I love the size, and feel in my hand. Issues with the Diamond (and my reactions):
- red (will paint and/or buy a black back)
- no SD card (I carry an 80GB iPod, 160GB Archos, and never filled my 8GB card in my Touch beyond 1GB - so for me, not a real issue)
- relatively small storage memory (I tweaked an xda Opera SD build last night to install to Internal Storage - and it works just fine. Will do same to PM. TV and NAV already install to Internal Storage. So won't be a real issue now)

WRT the Pro:
- Keyboard - would like to have, but after using the Touch for a year, don't really need it.
- SD card - want it, but don't need it
- Looks - I do not like rounded edges, beveled front, and all the chrome.
- Extra storage memory - would like to have that!

Re: Size of Diamond enough not to switch to Pro?

I was just thinking of the differences between the two and it hit me like a brick wall at 90... with all of the issues people are complaining about with battery life on the Diamond, I'll bet the Pro is worse.

The flash is going to drain more, the hardware keyboard is going to drain more... I have a feeling that if they don't include a bigger battery than what came in the Diamond, there are going to be a lot more unhappy Pro owners than Diamond owners.
