Here's my first crack at writing a program for the Pocket PC.


Features:
Portrait/Landscape mode in Full screen

Opens zip/cbz files

High Quality image resize. (Text is still readable even when the comic is fit to the screen!)

Smooth scrolling. (even on large images)

Remembers what comic and page you were on

"Next Comic" option opens the next zip in the directory, so you don't have to remember which one your on

"Manga" when changing pages, automatically starts at the right of the page



double click to go full screen
hit the action button to go to the next page

Diamond SnowStorm

Here is a "Snow Dome" type of application. Completely useless, but it was fun for programming. Try using it 2 days in a row

Watch this space for enhancements over time.

This has been a complete rewrite of the SnowStorm application and it was a good learning school !

Despite the complexity of the algorithm, I think the response times are very acceptable. If you like to count the number of snowflakes: there are 200 of them and each of them is updated every 40 ms !
I am really impressed with the 3D capabilities of the Diamond !

Using the OpenGLES SDK to create a "pseudo" 3D layout.
- Snowflakes will be larger in the front then in the back.
- If the PDA is laying horizontal, snowflakes will "disappear" to the back-end or stay on the front after a while
- Pseudo horizon, fixed at about 50% of the screen.
- Simple graphics, trees are placed randomly, snowman is fixed
- Simple turbulence (any pointers to good algorithms are appreciated)
- Snowflakes disappear behind trees/snowman, depending on their position in space. They will travel through them however
- Simple collision detection, only sides of the "frustum" are checked, as well as the artificial floor.

Click on the top part to be asked to quit the program. Click on the lower (25%) of the screen to restart it.

Expect some other enhancements over time too.

Needs CF 3.5 !

• Choose custom texture image from file system
  N.B. Limited allowed image size to 150kb
  certain images (haven't been able to determine why) cause the application to crash. No exception is raised by HTC's implementation of MD3DM so cannot investigate. Just restart app and texture falls back to a preloaded texture.
• Displays Average Frames Per Second over recent frames
• Settings saved to file and are applied once app restarted

if you are having an issue with a program here, PM someone from this thread... we need to keep it as clean as possible...

its a little tricky on the cdma diamond, you kinda have to hold the center(round enter) button while you do it

I searched extensively for a pedometer application that works on Diamond, but could not find anything. So I created one.

Pedometer Release 1.0 summary

--It uses HTC Touch Diamond's built in Accelerometer.
--Only .Net CF 2.0 is required (comes with Diamond).
--You can pause and reset the step counter.
--It displays steps, distance, calories and time duration.
--You can use the Hide button to save battery.
--You can set the step length and calories per mile value.
--You can save, delete and view the historical data.
--The historical data is stored in Microsoft SQLCe compact database.
--It can play the sound when the step is detected.
--It can sound an alarm when the set distance is reached.
--Briefly tested with the US unlocked version of the Diamond and Sprint version of the Diamond.
--The sensor.dll is from http://www.koushikdutta.com/search/label/Sensor%20API

Tips:
--First, verify and set your preferred setting from the menu item.
--Find the best carrying position with the "Play step sound" option on.
--Use the Hide button to save battery.
--You can install on storage card, but it can break the application if you use the storage mode while the Pedometer application is running.

Known Issues:

--Step detection is not accurate sometime. The algorithm needs improvement.
--After changing the setting, you need to close then reopen the application for teh new setting to take effect.
--It only works if the diamond is in the vertical position.
