How to prepair a virgin battery?

I disagree that draining a lithium ion battery diminishes its life.

Every phone I've ever had, the first thing I do when I get the phone is turn it on and completely drain the slight charge in the battery, then I do a full charge for 12 hours, and do a full discharge/charge cycle for 3 days.

Surprise surprise, I'm always the one who gets excellent battery life while everyone complains...

I've had the same Mogul battery for almost a year now... I get about 2 days of moderate use out of my phone while most of my friends running the same ROM and general programs as me get about half a day to a day... They never fully charge/discharge their batteries.

Technically, its supposed to be bad for them... but I've found just the opposite to be true in reality.

It is bad but Li-Ion is much more resilient than older batteries based off Nickel. The reason why your battery "appears" to have excellent battery life compared to your friends who never discharge often is likely just in the battery meter. It is actually good to fully discharge then fully charge Li-Ion batteries every now and then, not for its life but for the battery meter of your device. Doing this allows for it to re-calibrate what 0% battery life looks like and what 100% battery life looks like. After that it will give you a more accurate reading of your current charge. Your friends who seem to only have half a day's worth of life is probably due to the battery meter being inaccurate if they never let their Li-Ion discharge. It's likely in that case that when their meter reaches 10% or 5%, they might find the battery lasting an extended amount of time before it actually dies. The meter is just inaccurate. But yes, a full discharge is still not the best thing for Li-Ion batteries.
