i would probably want to test this out by doing it manually. please post all the extentions. |
Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
tethering works. Thanks.
One question: The only option for ICS is "PC Connection - USB". I wonder this uses "Phone as Modem" or "Sprint PCS". Quote:

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
It Uses Sprint. Its not called Sprint PCS on the Diamond, Just Sprint. You should have the Bluetooth PAN option as well.

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
I have a questions: Can you use "internet Sharing" to tether with diamond out of the box (without any registry hacking) ? without being charged of course
I am tethering right now but I did not do anything but I did install "Diamond Tweak 0.5 cab" . Does this cab file include tethering hack? |

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
I did this and I can Tether without issues. Although I do have to establish a data connection first(Open PIE or Opera): Completely delete the registry key HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings\ForceCellConnec tion
Anyone know whether I should also do the following entries: HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\InternetSharing","LastCel lConnection",0x00000000,"Sprint" HKLM,"Comm\InternetSharing","Extension",0x00000000 ,"" HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","Enabled",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","ConnectionGUID",0x00000000,"{E8F7941B-F379-E1C7-A25E-9C1425630A20}" HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","ReadOnly",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","SecureLevel",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","Secure",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","AlwaysOn",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","RequirePw",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","EntryType",0x00010001,0 HKLM,"Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Phone as Modem","DestId",0x00000000,"{ADB0B001-10B5-3F39-27C6-9742E785FCD4}" Thanks, Richard |

Freezes, eh? Never heard that one. Have you tried hard reset? |
Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
my diamond tethering works great but there is an issue.
if I let it idle long (in sleep mode long), it disconnects. if I try to reconnect it again, it freeze. close it and tried to open it again, nothing happens. but I can see "internet sharing" on top. I have to do a soft reboot. anyone got this issue? |

you need to at least delete the extension key, then you can either set the force connection key to sprint, or just delete it... -or- you can just install the cab from post #1 |
Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
I dont mean to sound dumb but what is tethering and how can it help me

I'm not sure how it works with Sprint but they have found a way to not be charged. I assume they have some other plan with Sprint setup. |

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
Traditional Hack is:
Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Extension="" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] ForceCellConnection="Sprint PCS" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] MaxCMCon=0 Juicy Rom 2.1: Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Extension="OEMAGW.dll" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] MaxCMCon=0 anyone one with Juicy ROM 2.1: what did you set your reg to for tethering? |

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
I played around with the connection; now everytime I connect, it asked for login ID and password.
anyone know how to get rid of this login process? what is your connection name? Juicy Rom named it "Data" but I renamed the connection to "Sprint" |
Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
how many gigs of data is everyone using a month?

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
This should be Stickied instead of being on page 3... Great fix. Thanks!!

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
Sorry for the Newb question, but how do I tether with the diamond? I'm upgrading from a PPC6700, and I remember when I set up my PPC connection (years ago) I simply had to run the program sprint gave us on the phone, and the CD that came with the phone had a PPC6700SP dialer program. Its worked great for years.
Now with the diamond, I tried (after installing this cab) turning on "internet sharing" and it says "check USB cable" on the phone, and my PC doesn't recognize the phone as a modem? I tried running the PPC6700 dialer and I get "remote error". I tried adding a dialup connection in control panel and again it doesn't show my diamond as a modem. Sorry for my ignorance, but can anybody tell me how to set this up? |
