Extension=""

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint PCS"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
MaxCMCon=0"

then "Using my reg editor under
HKLM/COMM/INTERNETSHARING/ THE EXTENSION= "isext.dll". You're saying to delete this dll? then under settings change forcecellconnect to "sprint" right?"

or you can delete the force connect key as well, then you can choose which connection to use... Please somebody explain or refine

set extension=""
force connect ="sprint"

or just run the cab file included in this thread

Its pointless to do both, you should do one or the other...
If you install the cab file, it will edit the registry for you... or you can do it yourself

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!

Do you have to have activesync installed to use this method?
When I connect my usb, it says New Hardware found and it's called Generic RNDIS. I look for the driver in Windows as described in other posts and it's not there.

I'd rather not load Activesync if I can help it, since I don't sync on the laptop anyway.

Thanks!

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!

I'm assuming you'll need ActiveSync installed in order for your registry editor to connect to the phone. I'm using CERegEditor and it requires ActiveSync.

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!

if you use total commander on your phone it has a built in reg editer so you can do it without a pc around.... though if your trying to teather I would assume you have one around haha.

you need to install activesync (WMDC for vista) for the drivers

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!

Once connected, what are you supposed to do on the PC side besides having WMDC installed? I messed around with WMWifi Router and PDANet previously and I think it messed something up. I just applied the file from post #1 and I still cant connect. The only thing that happends is WMDC on the PC switches to "not connected" then a local area connection created under network connections and underneath it says "remote NDIS based internet sharing device is created". I hope someone can help me fix this without having to do a factory reset.

Btw, this is my first Windows Mobile Phone and first post.
