I think Verizon disables Internet Sharing so you first have to download that CAB which is here somewhere and then download www.WMWifiRouter.com There are others who will be able to tell you if the above info is correct or not. |

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
Anyone still get the problem that you cannot save the registry edit for this trick? I tried it with the leaked and now official Sprint ROM, basically I could not force the connection to be "Sprint", every time I changed it as long as I moved up a level in registry and came back I would see it was automatically changed back to "Phone as modem".

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!
I may just stay with the ROM that came with my phone in October as there may be am issue with WM working with the new ROM but I am not sure if the new ROM interferes with Internet Sharing .

I tried your hack but i keep getting a grey "connect" button when i try connecting. and it keeps saying "check usb connection" as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. OK I got to work now. Thanks for the cab. Last edited by manofstee1; 03-08-2009 at 02:40 AM. |

As a workaround I just delete the key and ICS will show you the menu to choose sprint vs PAM. However this does not stick after soft reset. You will have to do it again. I hope the gurus here can figure this out soon. |

Htc_guardian.exe is located in device\windows. Use Resco Explorer or Total commander for this... FIRST make a copy of HTC_Guardian.exe and put it somewhere in case you ever want to put it back. Now take the "fake" replacement file I've attached and unzip it (it does nothing, so your key shouldn't change after reset) Take the .exe file and put it on your phone in storage, now using Resco or Total commander copy or move this file to Device\Windows and confirm overwriting the original file. |
