As soon as i got my phone i didn't let the power vision set up and i went straight to my computer and did the hardSPL upgrade then flashed a rom... no matter what i did, even flashing back to stock, i couldn't get it to work...

so i told the woman at sprint i just never worked and maybe she could send out a "signal" or reset somethings and said she couldn't. She walked me through a few procedures and nothing worked. she'll replace my phone cuz its a device issue

thats always tech supports first resolution. (my replacement was brand new)The reason mine messed up, or "didnt work" is because after the ESN swap, the new device has to be provisioned, and somehow the AAA secret gets lost(vision password). So yes tech support had to go thru on there end and rebuild the data profile so that it could establish another AAA Hex secret code and then have the device do a OTA profile so that it pulls down the new/existing username and updates the AAA secret Hex. Nothing else is going to work if the devices info and the info on the server does not match. Mine works fine now, after a day and a half of headaches. I pretty much had to tell the tech support rep what to do lol

They just reset mine three times this month.

All the fields in my data are blank as well. Been trying to speak to the tech reps for over 4 hours! They claim its a high volume of provisioning that is causing the lag and also outtage. Frustrating to say the least.

Are they able to provide the username, hex & ha value?

I have a Touch pro.

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

Hey All;

Well I have the same problems as all of you :(
I haven't managed to get data on my Touch Pro yet, despite doing the OP suggestions, and "working" with several sprint reps to try and reprovision my data connection. I noticed that the default username and password were completely different from my PPC6700, and managed to get a sprint rep to give me all the info for that u/p... even after setting it as account 1 and filling in everything, I got a error 67.

They claim that they are having a provisioning back log, and that they cannot guarantee as to when it will finally be resolved. The last representative said that it was on the network end and not the device, but I feel like it is all because the representative at the Sprint Store F**ked up my phone because he powered it on before changing the ESN info on the network...

What the hell should I do now? Request a replacement device?

yeah they should be able to, in my particular case, because i Have an employee line. they couldnt recover the AAAHex secret(vision password), but a regular account they should just be able to give u the data parameters u need. I will tell you that there has been a few data outages related to provisioning that are still affecting alot of people

he's actually right, as i posted a second ago, there are several data provisioning outages, so no a replacement device will do u no good1

well after connecting to a different chat rep. This guy was actually helpful and gave me hex, AAA values but still didn't fix the data issue. We did a hard reset and replug back the MSID - then voila. Finally it is working again. Boy what a headache! They are nice enough to give credits thou.

hibby50... if you tried the method on the first page and are having no luck, I found an alternate method that worked for me after having no luck with that method.. it is posted in this thread at post #100.. I'm not sure what page that is, but you should be able to find it. Maybe you give that one a go before flashing back to stock... Let me know if it helps!

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

Thanks alot for the help.

Your fix has worked fine.
I exchanged my first Touch Pro because the
speaker sounded blown.

After 24 hours of no data access I called customer service
and was told that there was a complete data outage for anyone
who upgraded or exchanged a phone since about 3 pm on 11/14.
???
Then I was informed that there would be no data connection for the next four days.
I was also offered a call.

Also I was informed that a fix would be coming out for the Pro because
there is a software problem were once the Pro makes a wifi connection then it won't
connect to the sprint network unless hard reset.

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

so i finally got it working!!!!!

I called tech support, and told them to reset my data. They said "i don't know what that means.... but i can have you turn off your phone, i'll take the data off then put it back on. then you'll turn on your phone"

WELL ISN"T THAT A RESET??? LOL so she did it and then i turned my phone on, still no data...

went into ##3283#, entered my MSL, the hit menu>restore. Rebooted the phone, then updated my profile and BINGO!

So i finally have data

I just got off the phone with Sprint tech support, she gave my MSL to me as soon as I asked. But, it didn't work? She talked to HTC tech support and they said "bring your phone in and we'll reset it"

I don't get it, why doesn't the MSL work?? It's a 6 digit number right?

Will do, I am gonna have to wait until tomorrow though. I'm stuck at work with no phone charger, it's been a whopping 7 hours, and my phone is dead.

Prolly gonna return this piece

thats how the battery life is on the stock rom... for me its like 8 hours... lets say you don't touch it or use it as a phone or internet, you'll last 12, but whats the point right?

Juicy's Roms are exceptional for battery life... i'd assum juggalo's latest are too

not sure if you ever flashed a rom before, but make sure you unlock first and read carefully what to do... becomes second nature after a couple times

Never done it, but I'd love to try it if it makes the phone run better. Have a link to a thread that is a walk through? One without all the acronyms haha, I barely understand what you guys are talking about!

first things first, don't flash a new rom until you have a data connection! VERY IMPORTANT! I made that mistake and they had to send me another phone.

Here's how to unlock, its pretty self explanitory without many acronyms lol: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062

EDIT: I WASN'T AWARE ERIC THE RICER HAD A TOUCH PRO AND THE ABOVE IS FOR DIAMONDS... THIS IS FOR TOUCH PRO http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503

Flashing a rom is pretty much the same process, if you get confused feel free to PM me and we'll get you through it.

Juicy's ROMS so far have been best on batter life... version 2.5 from what i've heard is most stable without issues... the upcoming 3.4 should be a killer rom tho...

REMEMBER: since you have sprint, Always flash a CDMA rom because a GSM rom will BRICK(LOCK/FREEZE/BREAK) your phone. Generic CDMA roms mean they are not carrier specific (not sprint, telus, bell, altell) but you'll have to install a carrier cab (created by DCD) which i have attached the sprint carrier cab to this post. after a flashed rom, unzip and place the cab on your device and run it.

syanni85 11-15-2008 02:26 AM

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

btw, a custom rom will ALWAYS CRUSH a stock/shipped rom. There is way too much bloatware(crap u don't need and just suck up memory and battery).

Went to Bestbuy swapped my old Touch Pro for a new one today because the old one had defective Dpad. I think the rep turned on the new Pro before switching service. Data didn't work. Tried changing 0 -> 1 and didn't work. However, master reset did the trick.

Does anyone know if the phone will actually perform "BETTER" after installing this carrier cab? Will the battery life and/or reception improve? I'm using Juicy 3.4 right now and it seems to work well as-is. But I'm always looking for improvements.

FYI ~ I did downgrade my PRL from 60614 [comes with Juicy 3.4] to 60613 and it looks like I'm getting 1 bar more signal strength wherever I go. Still would like to know if there is something else in DCD's cab that I should use on my Sprint phone.

Please give me you opinions. THANKS!

Hi guys, i was wondering if you could help me out, I just got my diamond less than a week. Got it off ebay new, i am getting error code 67, invalid vision username/pass. i've been reading thru the thread trying to figure out if it's the same problems some have been having, but not exactly sure. i tried almost everything on this thread except maybe flashing the rom. I think i figured out the problem but not sure how to fix it. Seems like when i got the phone it was preloaded with a username@sprintpcs and a certain phone #. I reset it a few times with my msl #, changing it manually with #3282#. I did contact support and went to the sprint store numerous times. Is there a way to completely wipe out this username, mdn & msid #s? thanks if you can help

Yes! To completely wipe out the MDN, MSID, and data profile (stored in slot 1) u can ##RTN#
Be Warned this will also completely hard reset your device

Error 67 simply means the username/password on your device do not match what sprint has on their authentication server. This could be a provisioning problem on their (sprint) end, or incorrect parameters programmed on the device. The update profile 'should' correct the parameters in the device to match those currently on the network. However I've heard that as of late there's many provisioning issues...

i cannot get my internet to work at all.

I try to do the ##rtn and it restarts everything.. however the over the air hands free activation keeps on cycling.

it jus says waiting for a reply from the provider and counts down each time.

however the actual phone is working but still no data!

anyone got any thing else i can try?

ok guys i need your help once again... i had everything working (data and voice) but now I just installed Juicy's newest rom and went into the settings and did the "Update PRI".. now my phone is really messed up.. i tried all of the above solutions and nothing will get my data back. I can no longer even make calls. I did the ##RTN# and that doesn't help either... any suggestions?

I have 2 Sprint Diamonds and both within a 24 hour period lost the data connection. I have the phone working but no internet. I was on the phone with tech support for 5 hours with different calls about this. I have been using Mighty Mike's rom on both but that is not the problem I do not think. I did reset my one device to the original sprint rom and relocked the device. The update profile did not work and the tech's tried everything and still no data. This was so frustrating as I my main phone was just Perfect and I was real happy. Now I'm stuck with wiped out phones back to original Sprint Rom and still no internet. Sprint is sending me a replacement phone and I have a ticket for someone to call (advance support) about the other but man this makes me want to go to At&t and get the Fuze or Verizon and check out the Storm. If you go to Sprint Users there are several posts about the same problems I'm having. This is really not a good thing for Sprint. :(

anybody know what error code 407 is when trying to update the data profile?

Thanks

puff 11-20-2008 11:33 PM

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

HTTP Error 407 - Proxy authentication required

Quote:

This error is returned when you try to access a Web site through a proxy server that has access control turned on while using Basic Authentication.

The Web Proxy, through a 407 HTTP response, requests credentials from the browser client (or downstream Proxy Server). The client provides the credentials, or in the case of a downstream Web proxy, the proxy server may provide the credentials itself.

If the credentials used by the client or by the downstream proxy server are not allowed by the upstream proxy server, this error will be displayed.

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

I was able to get my Diamond to do Internet Sharing via USB.

First: I did the registry edit (removed the forcecellphone key) which got me past the "disconnected by remote user" but then I got stuck with Error Code 67

Second: I installed the internet sharing fix cab file that some one posted here
But for some reason it wouldn't allow me to hit the "connect" button on the internet sharing program.

Third: I uninstalled the cab file to undo the damage and it worked perfectly ever since.

Edit: sorry I think I misread the title. the internet on my phone itself worked out of the box.

the original instructions in the first post worked for me. thanks!

Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

Sprint gave me similar instructions and it worked for me... Also did 2 registry edits posted in a thread around here and usb to pc internet working great! I added the other registries to make them unable to scan the teether (haven't tested yet).
The difference to the solution given to me was to restore to default and then update profile after soft reset...

The only problem I have is using the internet while in roaming....force roaming doesn't seem to work for me (keeps searching and never connects). Which I desperately need for my house, but even when I manage to get roaming the internet won't work. A sprint CSR told me that internet and text messages don't work while in roaming. Is there any solution to this? I don't mean to hijack this thread sorry if I am and ignore me :silent:
