Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
Just to document the issue I am having:
Device worked fine. Tried to sync Windows Media Player files to phone. Phone and Windows Media Player locked up during sync. (Used phone as hard drive not active sync). Unplugged phone from pc. Re connected and now no 4gb storage. Did hard reset multiple times. No fix. Can browse and see Internal Storage folder According to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426520 the problem might be that internal folder not mounting correctly. I deleted the folder and am now doing a hard reset. Will post results. |

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
The only way to resolve the issue was to use the method previously provided which is to re-format the drive. It took several attempts to connect the device to a few computers, but it finally mounted and then I was able to right-click and format the drive.
I then had to do a hard reset as several of the sprint customization settings install to the storage card by default. Otherwise, you end up with multiple folders called internal storage. Once the drive was reformated, I have not experienced any other issues with the storage using a PC or Mac. |

grins....
Ok, I am trying that. My office happens to be an IT Lab so I have tons of computers to try it on. I see the drive letter show up in windows when I connect but Format is not an option and when I try to open that drive it hangs. |

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
Below is the reply I got from HTC. This does not bode well for me I am guessing.
Hello Jeff, Thank you for your inquiry regarding the internal memory for your phone. We understandthat this can be very frustrating and are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.We ask that you please contact Sprint for a replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Jeff, I hope we have answered your question in detail. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. HTC Technical Support http://www.america.htc.com http://www.htcwiki.com --- Original Message --- From: XXXXXXXX Received: 9/18/08 9:30:59 AM EDT To: info@htc.com Subject: Sprint HTC Diamond I just received a new HTC Diamond from Sprint. Past Mogul and 6700 user and big fan of HTC. Got an odd problem that I was hoping you could help with. Would hate to RMA the phone back to sprint as I am sure their is a simple solution. Tried to sync music to the phone last night. Now the Internal 4gb Storage does not show up any longer in memory. Instead I get a folder under My Device called Internal Storage. I am guessing the 4gb memory unmounted itself from the phones system. So I tried to do a soft reset. That did not fix the problem. I then tried a hard reset and that too didn't fix the problem. I have also tried to use the Clear Storage program and when I go to run it I get "The Mass Storage cannot be accessed" Any ideas on how to re-mount this memory? Now when I connect he phone to my PC I do not get any place other than the phones memory to store stuff. |

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
Try what another users suggested keep unplugging and plunging it in till it shows up and you can format it. it sounds like a corrupt file system.
you can also try a linux pc. they always save my day when windows is being windows |
