Try to make USB Current High, Try to attache to onboard USB Port, Try to uses Original Cable or USB 2.0 Shielded Cable, remove all Extension Cable USB Hub inbetween
Long usb cables and un-powered Hubs can cause this behavior. i seeit all the time at the shop i work at

I just got my Sprint Diamond today.

Prior to connecting it to the computer, I noticed that the 4BG Internal Storage was no longer visible in the settings, system, memory,
storage card tab. It says "not installed." I then tried to reset the Internal Storage by going to Settings, System, Clear Storage and selecting "format internal storage only". When I do so, it says "Error, the Mass Storage cannot be accessed." This all occurred prior to connecting the diamond to my pc, so it can't be a cable issue. I also am unable to perform a hard reset, for whatever thats worth. Please help me get the 4Gigs back! Thank you...

See the other threads about doing a hard reset. Can't help you with the other problems, sorry.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

Hmm, this problem sounds alot like the problem you get when you unplug an ipod when synching without unmounting.

If this is correct then the trick is getting the wm device to re-mount the ram module.

I am also having this problem so I will experiment with it today

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

I had the same problem and all I did to fix it was connect to a pc in hardrive mode and right clicked the drive that came up. Then all you have to do is format with a quick format. Then you should have your internal storage

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

Just to document the issue I am having:

Device worked fine. Tried to sync Windows Media Player files to phone. Phone and Windows Media Player locked up during sync. (Used phone as hard drive not active sync).

Unplugged phone from pc. Re connected and now no 4gb storage.

Did hard reset multiple times. No fix.

Can browse and see Internal Storage folder

According to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426520 the problem might be that internal folder not mounting correctly. I deleted the folder and am now doing a hard reset. Will post results.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

No go. Still get no storage card showing up in Memory. After hard reset I get Internal Storage folder located under My Device.

Grrr....how do we get this phone to remount the internal storage?

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

The only way to resolve the issue was to use the method previously provided which is to re-format the drive. It took several attempts to connect the device to a few computers, but it finally mounted and then I was able to right-click and format the drive.

I then had to do a hard reset as several of the sprint customization settings install to the storage card by default. Otherwise, you end up with multiple folders called internal storage.

Once the drive was reformated, I have not experienced any other issues with the storage using a PC or Mac.

Maybe try to format the card on your computer and then reinsert it into the phone. Just a suggestion.
