We have the Fair and Flexible 700 w/ unlimited vision and SMS, shared between my wife and I. But I was very clear with the reps in the store last month that we wouldn't upgrade if we had to change plans. It's twice as much $$ for the current 1500 min share data/voice/text that just offers extra minutes we won't use. What's the point? But the store rep took about 3 minutes to approve the 2-yr renewal upgrades keeping our current plan, and also let us upgrade to a Centro and a Treo 800w.

I seriously hope they don't try to pull some crap on me when I call in on Tuesday.
So, I decided to call retention again just to see if I were going to get a different answer and sure enough, the rep I spoke with said I shouldn't have any problems activating the phone with my existing plan. Of course, this remains to be seen. Not sure if this is worth mentioning but Sprint tried to pull this BS when I activated my Treo 800w. Of course they gave in at the end but just the same, it was frustrating and aggravating.

I guess we'll both see on Tuesday. Good luck!!

Re: Diamond payment?

I'm an employee so i paid 249.99 out the door, which for me was really exciting because there was talk they were going to keep us from purchasing them for a little bit. but just to let everyone know how this is working, the only thing that needs to be on your plan for the diamond is at least a $25 vision pack for the mail in rebate to go through. if you go into a store and get a rebate form it will explain that. other than that i have not heard of any plan restrictions on this phone.

Re: Diamond payment?

I have a question for you guys that are getting the Diamond's at such great prices through retentions. In order to get the discount are you guys signing contract extensions? Has anyone gotten a discount on the phone by just threatening to leave or expressing their dissatisfaction with their current handset without having to sign a 2 yr extension?

Unfortunately, the order had already been processed and I have a pending charge on credit card, so there wasn't any way for them to adjust the order.

However, she said to wait one moment, and after putting me on hold for 5 min or so, she came back and offered to credit my account another $100,Only stipulation was that she had to move my contract starting date from last month to today. No issue with me! And she said I'm still be elegible for the MIR as well. Schweet!
HAHA! Good job. looks like alot of ppl are having success!
