Tom Tom 7 is at the bottom of the initial post... I believe you can use that for free as long as you can procure the map files.

Thanks for the guide, tobeychris. My Sprint Diamond seems to be getting faster GPS lock now. I had to use the reg hack method from this post http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=523161 to retrieve my SPC / MSL number... the methods listen in the first post did not work. (Although the full version of CDMA Workshop may work but I don't have it)

OK read most fo the postings in here.. i cannot find anyone that has GPS on Bell htc touch pro? far as i can tell by specs says it has a internal gps.. nothing saying AGPS however in a setting it has a place to turn off AGPS.. i had a touch diamond before and really had to do nothing to get the GPS to work other then going to a custom rom.. however with the new touch pro i cannot get any gps.. will the AGPS listed here work for me? if this has its own gps antenna how do i get it activated with out sub also i tried do use a bluetooth external GPS antenna and see if it can send a signal to the phone.. no luck there either.. can any one help>?

Can I assume that this won't work to unlock a Verizon Touch Diamond.

Lately I've been getting the "cannot connect for an unknown reason" error message frequently while doing something to invoke the data connection. Toggling the phone connection usually fixes it. I'm not sure if it's related but this seemed to start around the same time that I configured the GPS. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Touch the signal strength bar (bottom right)
Touch the signal strength bar again (top right)
Configure, Make sure "Built-in GPS receiver" is selected

I had 6 sats in 3 seconds, and I'm indoors.

I could not get the gps to work on my phone I restored it to stock telus settings and used the simple information you gave me. I couldn't get the instructions to work i got stuck on the part starting with step 7 there was no phone in the com port settings it didn't detect my phone and I am happy with it just workin glast time it was working and I used quick gps it got very good signal was getting 8-9 satellites indoors and it was way quicker that it would have been the way it was working before I am so happy it worked!! There is so many places for gps settings. even after restoring to stock telus rom it had been set to the 911 only settings and that was my problem I was only trying the tutorial to get it to work again as people were discussing that it needed to be cleared out the cache and things like that on the gps. if I do run the program maybe it will work i will let everyone know. I am just happy its working I got lost in the woods 4 wheeling I was maybe 600-1000 yards (lost) and if I would have found my way anyways but It was nice (before I messed up my gps totally) that I was able to throw up the map and get out of the woods with little trouble. and the 4 wheeler has gps but I hadn't set any waypoints on it so so it would not have helped much hehe.

Not sure if its already been discussed but The Alltel Radio 1.12.20F Broke my AGPS on my Alltel Touch Pro. You need to Revert back to 1.03.13F Radio to get it working. there maybe other radios that work that are newer will work. but this radio is fine for me.

i m have a diamond and my service provider doe snot provide gps. The diamond available officially is the telus version.

i hv installed a gps software - mapmyindia and it works perfectly fine.

what i need to know is that Diamond has an already quick GPS feature which saves the satellite positions for a week or so. U can set that feature to update automatically when u active sync or u can even update it manually.

is the settings in first post of any additional help to me !!!! Is A GPS better than quick GPS then it makes sense. Can we run both A-GPS & Quick GPS together ?

agps is better. if u have a data connection ull get a lock in like 10 seconds. anytime with any app. i disabled quick gps and the quick gps service on my phone. well se it to manual. just to save ram. my gps works great.
