Re: SPC/MSL code of sprint diamond

I found this method on a site a while back and used this to get my MSL from my TELUS Diamond as GetSPC and many other methods would not work. I'm assuming it will work for Sprint Diamond as it was originally intended to work with Sprint Mogul.

Change the following registry entries in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ATDbgLog
Enable: 1
LogMode: 1

Wait a reasonable amount of time and soft-reset (I have noticed that it seems to take longer for this value to take affect, so if you reboot and the registry values are not changed, then you need to do it again and wait longer)
Check to see that the file \Temp\ATDbg0.txt has been created.
Return the values back to what they were (most likely 0) waiting the same amount of time as above.
Look in the ATDbg0.txt file and you should see a log of commands sent to the CDMA radio and there should be something like this somewhere in the file:

Code:
Tx:AT+HTC_RMSL=0\r
Rx:+HTC_RMSL: 354201\r\n0\r
Tx:AT+HTC_ROTKSL=0\r
Rx:+HTC_ROTKSL: 216112\r\n0\r
The numbers next to the Rx: +HTC_RMSL line should be your MSL. You may see a couple of different instances of this number within the text file - try one, if it doesn't work, try the next. The file ATDbg0.txt will either be in \temp or \ATDbg.

Hope this works for you.

Re: SPC/MSL code of sprint diamond

The only way that I was able to get my SPC was to use the method described above (Registry hack).

Getspc.exe did not work with any values at all..

The registry edit only took about 1 hour.

Yeah, the registry is a pretty simple way... if you use a good registry editor. I was able to get it in about 20 minutes. Just the time it take you to open the program, make the registry change, restart and repeat.

Re: SPC/MSL code of sprint diamond

So i'm trying to get my Sprint Diamond working with Alltel. I have the Phone unlocked, I have the MSL, and I have the ROM on the root directory. Do I need to Change the MSL to all Zeros for this to work? And if so how do I do it. I did the ##778# and was able to get in, I just can't find where to change it.
Thanks in advance!

If you get a different phone your MSL will be different.

When I activated my Diamond on Sprint's website I just wrote down the "Secondary Lock Key" number from the manual programming page...I don't know if this is always the case but that is the MSL for my phone. This was verified later when I was talking to a Sprint rep and he gave me the MSL to do something.

So I guess if some of you REALLY want to avoid talking to Sprint you could activate your old phone online then go right back and swap to your new phone, click on manual programming instructions and write down the "Secondary Lock Key" number.
