for the GPSOne settings i used the Alltel settings, but my phone is running MR4.... could that be why it doesnt work? should i be using different GPSOne settings?

I downloaded the vista drivers provided by the OP in the 1st post. Copied everything to /Windows/system32/drivers.

Go into Device Manager (use admin access), and search for "Generic USB Device" or similar. Click update drivers and tell it to search in the drivers folder from /Windows/system32. It will then ask you to verify, blahblahblah, and DONE.|

Worked like a charm for me.

*When choosing for a BASE MODEL use the Highest "SURF" model you can.

Also, I'm using TT7, have the alltel GPS Settings configured via CAB & through QPST, and NO Sats, no GPS, not even a flicker. Help!

Re: How To: Configure GPS

Wow - installed the TELUS cab and Google Maps found 7-9 satellites almost instantly. Before, it couldn't find any! Thanks tobeychris!

I didn't even have to do anything beyond installing the CAB file - what additional benefit does the other stuff provide?

At first, the phones were shipping without of the of the other information programmed on the chip, now they are so it is not needed for most.

Re: How To: Configure GPS

Ok, i have a HTC touch Vogue from Bell Mobility
I haven't made any changes to it in terms of special settings for GPS (I only downloaded the official Bell 6.1 WIndows mobile upgrade)

"GPS' well, I guess it uses phone towers for the feature in Google maps works fine.

I was trying to figure out from this thread, what else are my options. Tom Tom seems to be one, but I have no idea what CAB to install, or what other steps need to be done. Turn by turn and spoken instructions sure would be nice.

Thanks for your help everyone
KC

Re: How To: Configure GPS

does anyone know any free gps programs besides google maps? I tried looking around and I can't officially find one. Unless I basically have to pay for one?
