Well, Sprint is planning on making an announcement today according to this article:

I think there is a convention going on today (Wednesday) that Sprint is going to use for the announcment.

But hey, if your son does not like the Instinct, he has 30 days to return it for the Diamond - Just remember, I think there is only 1 exchange allowed.

Correct. There is only one exchange. but remember there is a loop on that. When you go for the exchange ... dont say you want a exchange. tel them you want a refund because you don't like it. Then hit another store and buy the Pro. Remember... you have a 30 day risk free guarantee. If you tell them you want to get the pro and want to return the Diamond, then they will do a exchange. then you are screwed. Just say you want your money back because you did not like the phone.

well he just called me..he bought the instinct....at least he can exchange it if the diamond is what he wants..just have to keep an eye on the clock.
Now if it is only one exchange..is that lifetime or per purchase?

That's even uglier than I thought it would look. From the pictures, they make it look like a semi-glossy dark burgundy. From those pics, it's flat/pale burgundy-ish...hahahaha.
