They don't send phones to stores for "which ever employee wants to buy it". In my 5 years with Sprint, I've never seen an employee pay full retail price for a phone in store, over waiting maybe 3 days to order it for the new customer price.

advocate phones are received into inventory, and will be activated by the manager on a demo line. they will not come activated.

the stores should all be getting two phones, one for the advocate and the second for display. its not inconceivable that the store would be selling their display unit, even if it is against policy.

furthermore, if youve been with sprint for 5 years then you should have seen plenty of phones purchased at full retail by employees, because thats the way the system worked for years. it was not until 2006, with the launch of the advantage club site, that there was a website for purchases. unless you were at the main campus store then you had to purchase at full price and get a mail in rebate.

I'm talking about EDRP lines. Not WAC. The Advocate phones are NOT recieved into inventory, I suggest you check your M&P. Not to mention if you were an advocate, and you were on any of the calls, it was spelled out that the devices will come ALREADY ACTIVE, just like the Instinct.

There might be a phone coming for demo, but that's certainly not "an extra phone for which ever employee wants to buy it"

Aren't you the same guy who swore the device was coming out on the second, and then tried to call me out and say I was wrong?

Not to contridict what everyone else is saying, but I went to the sprint store last night and the lady said that they would have Diamonds in store on the 18th. I don't know if I believe that, but she seemed like she knew what I was talking about.

and, at that time, the device was slated for a sept 2 release per all internal info, which was pushed back from 8/28. according to the call leaders the diamonds will arrive unactivated, be received into inventory and be activated on a demo line. after 30-45 days (still tbd) they will be decommissioned, adjusted out and we will be able to activate them on our edrp lines.

Wrong, but whatever. There was an email saying launch had been delayed well before the 28th.

Not to mention advocate phones are NEVER received into inventory. Ever.

Wow..... I have nothing to add other than perhaps a request to cool it for a bit.

Seems like time will tell when the phones come out. No need to discredit anyones opinions. As far as an official date of release.... Sprint is obviously gearing up for it and will announce it in due course. All else is anyones best guess based on insider information, pure guess work (me for example), or checking the tea leaves in the morning cuppa.

I heard about it, if this is where they are releasing the release date that would be awesome! If not I still expect 9/14 telesales.
