since everyone has their insider information on when the diamond will be out i have decided to merge all of the speculated release threads into this one so lets please keep all speculation in this thread and no not post a new thread regarding its release until you actually have a phone in hand.

So I have been following the many Diamond release threads and I still think much of this is speculation, even by Sprint employees; here's why. I manage a very large Sprint account for my company, approximately 3,500 lines (right now 99% Treos with a few Moguls and Touches). After reading about all the different dates I finally pinged my rep about the release of this device and this is his response:

(Me) Do you have any release information on the HTC Diamond? I am finding a lot of release info on the web and would like to add this device to my Windows Mobile testing.

(Rep) It was communicated to us yesterday (8/2 that the launch date is 9/2 for the HTC Diamond. We have an internal call on the 2nd for the launch of this product.

So unless this means they are being given the specifics on the 2nd for the launch later in the month I am not sure what to make of all the conflicting info and dates.

Either way it looks like we'll definately have it this month so take it for what it's worth.

Here is the latest.

• Depending on location, launch kits will begin arriving in stores on 9/2
• Direct ship only product launch is 9/14; (this means you should be able to order one from a corporate store or online, but not actually walk out of the store with a device) full product launch will be communicated at a later date
• Diamond Advocate seed devices start shipping 9/2; delivery times will vary (this means that I will have mine before you!! Hahahha. I had to change my pants when I read this as I thought for sure I would've had to wait longer.)

Well, as long as the delay on the Diamond's don't hold the Touch Pro release back, I'll be happy. It should be perfect timing for my postponed tax refund...LOL.

Well for what it is worth... it looks like it will be launched on the 2nd of Sep. All the emailed I have received fro Sprint CS says so. Hopefully if it does launch on the 2nd we can all pick it up at our local Sprint Store. My fear is that not all the stores will get it onthat day. So some of us will be screwed while others will be jumping for joy! Ohh yeah, good job in mergin all these threads into one.. there was like 5 threads on dates. And also... I abandoned the Vouge threads too... I already did the transition on the threads to the Diamond. Damn.. I just cant wait to get my hands on this.

FYI - Speaking from experience with Customer Service (as a QA Supervisor/Manager), 1st tier chat/email/phone reps have the Least amount of information out of anybody in Customer Service.
