Telus Diamond to VZW?

I was thinking about purchasing a Telus Diamond, throwing on a vzw PRL and getting verizon to add the esn to their database.

Has anyone ever had success doing this in the past? The store claimed they can add foreign esn's to their system.

Please discuss

Re: Telus Diamond to VZW?

Why add a verizon prl ahead of calling them if youre going the official route? I dont think verizon recommends putting a .prl file onto your phone and flashing that way so i would think if you followed their method and were using your Telus 6900 that Verizon would know its a Telus and flash it the right way. BUT im thinking maybe because its Canadian that maybe adding the prl might help but Verizon might not allow the ESN because it is a Canadian phone... i dont know if using a Canadian phone is a hangup. But if it is their are other ways to get the phone working and theyre not that hard.

You could (as i did with a Sprint 6900) copy the ESN from your existing phone to the 6900 and copy all your other setting and get the phone working. This might or might not require calling Verizon and saying you had a problem with a hard reset on your phone, they will (99.9% of the time without question.. never heard of anyone being questioned usually the techs assume that a hard reset was the problem... if anything err on the side of stupid dont seem to know too much) send you the A-key and set your phone up. MAKE SURE when you copy the ESN to your new phone and reboot it that your original phone is not on. NEVER have the same ESN phone connected at teh same time... the phone network will find out and spank you.

Re: Telus Diamond to VZW?

thansk for the info.
Looks like telus doesn't allow people in the US to buy, so I'm having a friend from canada that's coming here on the 5th to get one for me.
Apparently, all stock is gone at the stores by her right now

Re: Telus Diamond to VZW?

Well.. it sells for $450CDN w/no contract, exchange rate is just about 1:1 give or take a few cents. Someone is already coming from canada to here in a couple weeks and the sprint version is going to run $550?
If the vzw is indeed going to be crippled, I'm ok spending less than a no contract price.
I'll save my upgrade discount for the pro when/if it ever comes out.

Re: Telus Diamond to VZW?

actually oocerica when you say it like that i am too. But i am elegible for an upgrade which will hopefully lower it to the $200 range. Im still not sure on that lower spec verizon model That supposed sprint spec release spelled Qualcomm wrong AND how would they know Verizon specs? Condsidering the Verizon spec is not the stock spec how would Sprint know?

Re: Telus Diamond to VZW?

I'm wondering, does telus use MSL's or is it like vzw w/000000?

If they use MSL's, has anyone tried getSPC on the telus diamond?

I will probably need that info if this will work.

yeah so pop getspc on there get the spc and unlock it. Will QPST work? The diamond chipset is somewhat similar to the touchs.
