Yeah, I picked one up on Friday evening. The launch seemed to be hugely confused. Some stores appeared to have them in the morning and were selling them first things; the store I went to got their order at 6pm. Some stores were only selling to new accounts (bigger commission?), while others didn't care.
I would imagine the Tuesday launch should be better handled, if it occurs.
So far, it seems very clean. Not a lot of extra Telus stuff installed. Some people have had issues getting GPS up and running. Opera seems to pass the wrong info to the Google Maps (the most common free GPS software, I guess), so they can't install it from there. Have to use PIE. Then the first lock with Google is really slow, and people are really impatient, so they have issues. Once you get past that, life isn't too bad on a GPS front. I've got Garmin XT running, usually getting locks in < 15 seconds after a soft reset.
The screen is a HUGE improvement. I notice it particularly when reading books with uReader. It's like the difference between dot matrix and laser printers. Although I did have to crank up the text size, as it was basically unreadable even at the largest default setting. But in Opera, you can read the zoomed out version of the pages much easier too.
Opera also seemed improved over the last beta floating around, in my experience. Either that, or HTC and Touch optimized it for working with the unit.
The FM Radio is non-existant in this version, or at least, the software doesn't appear anywhere. I also haven't had a positive experience with the camera yet. The focus is slow, and has a tendancy to mis-focus. It's got a ton of shutter lag, so you're not going to take pictures of the kids or pets. It also seems to have a slow shutter speed (indoors and out), although no information on that is embedded in the EXIF information.
The Telus version now has MS Voice Command built in (1.6.19965), instead of that funky piece of junk they had on the Telus Touch that required you to record tags for each contact you wanted to phone. Haven't tried the MS version too much yet though, and not at all in a car type environment.
I'm not going to comment too much on the battery yet. It seems like it's reduced, compared to my Touch, but I've only had it for a couple days, and I've been playing with a lot of different things like WiFi, Bluetooth, and stuff.
Any particular questions, feel free to post or PM and ask.
