I just purchased a spare Diamond, but I'm sure I could sell it if need be.

I don't believe she is a regular sprint rep. because she has her own office and direct number. but who knows (hopefully she has real info)

I hope there is some confirmation soon. I currently have the diamond and was thinking of getting the tp2 but if the d2 comes out I would def get it. I just can't wait anymore. I wish we just knew one way or another. If you are going to get it sprint tell us, if not, tell us so I can get a tp2 then.

So... I emailed Dan@Sprint.com... and low and behold I got a phone call a few days later from Angela... I don't know if it is the same Angela from the earlier post (I haven't gotten the follow-up email yet) but it sounded like it might be.
In the email I sent, I sugested that the HTC LEO would be a great fit for my company and sprint. During my phone call Angela basically said no news on the LEO coming to Sprint at all. Not that suprising, but non the less. During the conversation she wanted to know why I thought that was the phone for me and my company... I told her faster processor and larger screen... She wanted to know what I thought of the TP2... I of course told her I didn't want the extra weight of a hardware keyboard... She then asked if I had heard of the hero and the TD2... My next question I made sure I phrased it correctly... I asked aren't those phone phisically about the same other than the operating system... She said no... She said that the TD2 will have "a 3.6 inch screen just like the tp2" So, I wanted to make sure I heard that correctly and asked this... Doesn't the European version of the td2 only have a 3.2 inch screen... She said yes it did and that the U.S. CDMA version has a 3.6 inch screen...
Then some pleasantries and we both put the phone down...

So, I'm not usualy one to take things like this for more than a grain of salt. But... I do believe that according to her late in the 3rd quarter we will be seeing a Sprint Touch Diamond 2 with a 3.6 inch screen....

WOO HOO..
I'm now a happy camper...
I'll be a happier camper when it is in my hand.

Thank you all for posting your updates! I am eagerly awaiting the TD2 release and can surely wait another few months. Knowing that it IS coming now.

Thanks for the info. It does sound promising.
The 3.6" screen does sound nice as long as the Diamond2 dimensions are similar to the Diamond.
I would not want to give up compactness for a larger screen.
For instance, the iPhone would be too large for me.
The Diamond is the perfect size. Fits nicely right in my front pocket.

Well, I got the follow-up email. And, it is the same Angela and she reconfirms what she said on the phone...
So I'm feeling optimistic now...

The fact that she knew the specifics of all of the phones you referred to makes me believe her even more. most reps I ask don't have any clue what they are talking about. I went to a store about the tp2 and the guy said it wasn't coming out for a while and I said how about yesterday and he looked it up and was like oh...

At first i thought she said forth quarter then i read my email and it said third, well that means end of September or very very beginning of Oct.(Oct. 6th windows 6.5 launch)
