Unhappy Can't sync Contacts

I recently purchased a HTC Wing (WM6) and I am having trouble syncing my contacts.
I successfully upgraded my Outlook Express to the Outlook 2007 (using the CD provided with the phone) and also imported my contacts sucessfully.
I also successfully downloaded Activesync 4.5 and followed the Install Wizard where I selected to sync Email, Contacts, Favorites, Files and Calender.
I plugged my phone in and everything synced successfully EXCEPT the contacts.
When I checked the settings on my phone, I noticed that the Contacts box was gray and could not be checked.
I can't seem to figure out why I can't check the contacts on my phone, even though I can see the Contacts are checked on my computer.

The make the problem even worse, my husband has a Sprint Mogul (WM6) and his phone has the same problem.

I have contacted T-Mobile, Sprint, Microsoft and HTC and no one is able to help me.
I am a newbie to PPCs so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

adesir,
Not many Wing owners here....
The fact that your husband has exactly the same problem with his Mogul indicates the problem is with the PC. Suggestions:
0. Backup everything ahead of time.
1. Ensure the PC has Windows XP SP2 fully patched with the latest updates. (Vista uses MDC, not Activesync.)
1A. Run Detect and Repair in Outlook 2007 to be sure your Outlook data is correct.
2. Uninstall and reinstall Activesync 4.5. Delete partnerships if there are any.
3. Delete partnership in AS on the device.
4. Reboot the PC and the Device.
5. Connect the device and follow the prompts in the AS window to re-establish the partnership. Choose to sync only contacts, nothing else. (Add other items later, one at a time, and confirm success each time before proceeding with the next item type.)
Good luck, and post back with experience. tmb
