Re: Tethering on the Arrive?
Well, although mango has the full capacity of tethering (by means sockets support), seems that the tethering apps wil be "banned" from marketplace.
This thanks the pressure from the carriers, same as in android "official world" Tethering still missing from Mango [Updated] | wpcentral | Windows Phone News, Forums, and Reviews The question is, if the xda guys can solve this, althought the clallenge is the sideload an unofficial app Another quiestion is, if Sprint is following these bad pactice (block tethering apps). buy if not, there is high chance of this in a medium term A final question is, if in Europe the tethering apps are not blocked, Can We do a simple trick in unbranded phones?, like it appears as an european device, and can get the tethering apps ? Re: Tethering on the Arrive?
then if I were u id delete the post u made just before his because it makes u seem contradictory.
I also think this thread should be closed as the question has long been answered and the OP doesn't even post in/follow this thread anymore. |

Re: Tethering on the Arrive?
This really bites, I am getting so tired of this TP2 but I don't really wanna let it go for Android. I like Android and all but I just think WP7 has so much more to offer. Oh well, I may just have to bite the bullet and go androoski until the next gen wp7 devices drop. Tethering is the only thing keeping me from it.

Roachslayer I'm sorry to say I have to call bullsh*t The drivers that were posted do not work with the HTC Arrive However I'd love to be proven wrong Drivers that do work can be found here Tethering - Page 2 - xda-developers Also other devices can indeed tether with Sprint so I do not think Sprint is blocking it but I could be wrong. My results are interesting and it appears that an app may not even be needed to tether If you want to mess with the dfrouter app your phone will need to be developer unlocked but as my posts show the results appear to be the same no matter with or without the app. There are threads around that go over how to develop unlock for free. Also it appears the modem is dialing out I just have'nt gotten it to connect yet, may be a stupid setting or something I'm missing. Please see the thread @ xda and lets solve this issue instead of sharing opinions. |
