I must be doing something wrong when I set it up, but it's not that I'm not hitting save. Here are the steps I'm taking: I check the box for "Mail2Web/Exchange" and click on the text. I hit "New." I then highlight the line with "NewUser etc." I go up to the boxes for "Server," "Domain," and "Username" and take out what was automatically put in (mobile.exchange.mail2web.com, ad2, and NewUser), and put in the server, domain, and username for the exchange account I want to connect to. I add my password, what to sync, etc., check the SSL box, hit "Save," and then hit create OEM (that all is after doing the "OEM Info" section. I hit "Refresh" so that that OEM shows up when I'm ready to build the ROM. I select the OEM with the exchange information (amongst others). All goes well in building and then I flash. All goes well there as ever other OEM is there and appears to be working perfectly. I go to Programs, then Activsync, and I'm asked about setting up a new account. The settings just aren't there. I'm sure it's something stupid that I'm doing, but I've not figured it out.

Ok let me get it straight...

You make all the personal OEM changes and the personal OEM shows up properly in your kitchen list. You select it, and the ROM build process completes properly. When you connect your phone back to the USB connection Activesync kicks off and it asks you to setup a new account? Is that what is happening?

No, once I've flashed then I access the Activesync on the phone like I would do to hit sync (during peak hours I have my exchange account to sync manually), but there's nothing to sync; I have to set the account up anew, like I've done in the past after hard-resetting. BTW, thanks for your help with the other stuff.

Ok prior to your initial sync can you get a screenshot of the following reg entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Pa rtners\{004D0634-2FBB-5133-7CAE-A690F446FCA1}]

This should contain your mail registry if it was set correctly when you did your build. Second can you send me a copy of your provxml file. This is where all your mail settings are. I would like to compare it to mine. You can x out your password if you want to. since it is in clear text.

Thanks,
Steve

Handy Program. Great customization tool.

Question: Is it possible to "unOEM" something that I made ? Specifically, I have an OEM with all my personal settings (name, bluetooth, power, etc) but I want to change one
thing. Can I undo what I made to make the changes and the make an OEM again?

Thanks!

I've rebuilt an OEM by creating a new one and giving it the same folder name; thus the old one gets overwritten. Seemed to work fine for me. I don't know if there's a way to just change one thing without having to redo the OEM completely.

So far, that's the way to do it. Make your changes and replace the old OEM. Leave it to Tiermann, and he'll put it in there somehow...guy's a genius!

Bluetooth Settings

Is it possible to save BT headset settings in a personal OEM, so as to avoid the pairing that has to go on?

Thanks,
Steve

While I am at it...

Is it possible to run a cab from the extended ROM via the autorun section of the OEMizer. If that is possible what would the syntax look like? I have two cabs (HHC and Skype) that I would like run automagically once my new flashed ROM has rebooted and done all the other customization work via my personal OEM.

Thanks,
Steve

Send a message via AIM to tiermann Send a message via Yahoo to tiermann
Code:
CAB: \Extended ROM\whatever.cab
CAB: \Extended ROM\whatever2.cab
You'll also need to set the autorun flag back on because it's turned off in the kitchen, that way everyone's carrier customizations don't run.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm]
"AutoRunCFG"="\\Windows\\Config.txt"
"AutoRun"="\\Windows\\autorun.exe"
;0 to run, 1 means it already ran
"AutoRunFlag"=dword:00000000
You can also just check "TierAutoinstall" in buildOS. That's an on-the-fly tool for the autorun config.txt.
The first time you boot you'll get a checklist of all cab files in Extended ROM, Storage Card, Storage Card\Boot and \Windows. Pick what you want and autorun will install them and soft-reset.
