If I want to assign custom sounds to system events, how do I get the files I want to use to show up in the menu for selection?

To follow up on Sarge's post this had to do with the HHC and trying to make an OEM out of it. I have not had any luck in getting this to go. I was using 1.05b to do this. Anyone had luck OEM'ing this?

Type them in the combo (dropdown) box.

I'm reading thru the help file with the program running..........I found that it ain't enough to clik the checkbox, you have to actually clik on the text next to the box to open it's dialog for editing.....THAT tool me 10 min to figure out!!! heheheheh

Looks good in theory, but it's too much for me right now...........I need to play with it. Can I "build" an OEM and then edit it later or would I always need to start from scratch?

You can build a personal OEM, and because it is mostly reg changes you can edit the .rgu file directly without going through the OEMizer. This does assume you have a working understanding of a Windows registry and know how to manipulate it. Its a good learning experience for newbies but I would also use us as sounding boards before you go flipping your registry around. It could screw the phone and cause you to hard reset.

A great tool to obtain to help in this is called Registry Workshop. It allows you to edit your phones registry from your PC, thru a usb connection. It also allows you to compare a registry, both pre and post change. Its invaluable as I made customizations to my phone.

This registry workshop, is it for your PC and PPC? Same program? I did a search for it and doesn't say anything about PPC so I wanted to make sure. Also its $30.

There's a remote registry editor from MS that I think comes in the WM6 SDK (I don't remember which package installed it) or another very simple and free one here.
Both work over the activesync/WMDC connection and I've tried them both on Vista 64bit so I'm sure they'll work on other windows versions.

Another tool I use is WinDiff since neither of the free remote registry editors have a compare feature.

A hard reset only sets the ROM back to defaults and deletes all information on the device. It does not reset you back to a stock carrier WM5 ROM.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong but when I use the OEMizer and I click on the Exchange server tab and insert my information, it won't let me sync with my personal computer. It has the personal computer in Activesync and it says that it has sync'd but it doesn't sync over my contacts or calendar? Does anyone know why this could be happening?
