Yes active sync starts, but under status it reads Attention required: Active sync has detected a problem on your desktop. And that's ALL it says.

There is a troubleshooted in activesync - buried in the desktop ActiveSync app menus somewhere - connect via usb, and after you get that error run the troubleshooter.
Post whatever you get |

This is the message i am too am getting but i have tried the cab...did a few months ago and it is still on the computer....when i toggle it back and forth it doesnt seem to help. any thoughts?
EDIT---- tried latest AS beta 4.5. no effect. i will try Sk tools since someone mentioned it might help. i am thinking it might have been the notifications clear on memaid. since i remember clearing them about the time i think i noticed AS no longer working. i have made sure that the settings are correct and that the firewall is letting it through as well. I know this only is a problem on my desktop. works fine on other computers and my wifes laptop...though as Guest. so it would seem that this is specific to this computer. |

Same issue
I had the same issue after running memmaid. I think it deleted something required for active sync to work.
Hard reset solved my problem. If you knew what was deleted you could probably restore it manually. For me, a hard reset was easier. |

Sprint Mogul (PPC 6800) - Active Sync update from older
I just upgraded from the Sprint PPC 6700 to the NEW Sprint Mogul (PPC 6800) and encountered the same Active Sync RNDIS / USB issue that has been plagueing everyone else. Both HTC and Sprint's website is of no help on this PDA phone from a "download software" perspective.
I solved this problem using the ActiveSyncMode.sa.CAB downloaded as indicated in the above posts from the UT Starcom site for the PPC 6700. Since that worked splendidly for the PPC 6700 with Windows Mobile 5.0 and the fact that I am just plain destructive, I decided to give it a go with my brand spanky new Sprint Mogul (PPC 6800). That same "ActiveSyncMode.sa.CAB" seems to work with the Sprint Mogul (PPC 6800) and Windows Mobile 6 as well. I downloaded the "ActiveSyncMode.sa.CAB" (originally specified for the PPC 6700) and copied it over to my tiny little flash card on the PPC 6800. I ran it from the "File Explorer", it loaded without errors, and magically showed up under the "Programs" area. I launched it and changed the settings to "USB" instead of "RNDIS" and voila, it magically synced with my Outlook, while my corporate Firewall software and VPN were both active! Problem solved so far, until it blows up for some weird incompatibility reason down the road in a few weeks... fingers crossed. Again I do not know if this is "Officially Supported" but it seems to work. Cheers, Jax |
