SDHC Drivers

I installed the SDHC drivers from xda-developers on my 6700 w/ Helmi's WM5 1.0.4 custom ROM. So far, so good, but I only have a 2gb card. At least it didn't screw up my phone.

It replaces sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll in \windows. Back them up before applying the .cab.

I tried it with a 4GB card

The card wasnt a SDHC but Ive had nothing but trouble with the 4GB card I bought, I thought Id try it.
It was working then I saved a Excel S/S to the card and boom, whole thing was gone and the phone itself said, "the card was unrecognisable, do you want to format it"
I tried a soft reset, took the card out and put it back in a few times, nothing, so luckily I have everything on it saved to my laptop, so I said sure format.
I reinstalled the files and it now seems to work ok.
Like I said its not a HC card but Ive never had the message about reformatting before, so maybe it does work

Sounds like your card is one of those early 4GB 'sort of fake' cards that are non-HC, and are therefore non-compliant with both the non-HC and the HC specifications.

With all due respect, you should just 'bite the bullet' and throw away that card, as it'll give you nothing but headaches as long as you try to use it.

Sorry...

Biting the bullet

Yes I agree, the Ebay vendor assured me it would work, when it didnt , they said "Oh you have one of those" so immediately said well we now arent sure if it works or not.
Try it for a while if it does, otherwise we will replace it (which of course they didnt)
SO what 4GB brand (Sandisk?) works?
Im on Helmi V6, with 1.41 antenna (thank you Phoenx 06)
Im wanting to capture email attachments and have my general sales junk that I can email to people if im not in the orriface, music you know general junk
Sandisk?
Any other opionions, as this 4gb card is meant to be a "Topram" brand

Your problem is not with brand, it's that you picked up a miniSD and not a miniSD SDHC card. I have a TOPRAM card, and it works as well as I expected. Every month or so my data gets corrupted if I save to the card too often (20+ times a day) - but I knew that would be a problem going in, because 4gb is not supported by the minisd spec.

If you want 4gb and above, you need to get an SDHC mini SD card regardless of brand, and make sure you update the drivers per the cab on this forum.
