Cyberon voice commander??

I've seen this discussed on the forum but I can't ever get to a working link. Does anyone know where to get the Cyberon Voice Commander:

ftp://xda:mad:da@ftp.xda-developers....xv6700-usa.CAB
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/3rd_Party

I've got the simpler VoiceCommand which understands my tags but doesn't do complex commands; I've bought Microsoft VoiceCommand and that one doesn't understand me at all. Can someone help me get Cyberon Voice Commander, which I hear works well for people?

Thanks,

Mike

I think that the Colonel posted a cab for this one in his 3.5 ROM thread.

I'm searching... I see several people asking for this in that thread but I don't see anyone posting a working URL. If you know where it is, please let me know. Thanks,

Mike

It's attached to the first post in this thread - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=1352

Process: Search all forums for "Cyberon" - read Colonel's post referring to a CAB in the software forum, and a search for "Cyberon Voice Dialer" then reading the only post in the Software forum. Total time about 2 minutes - less time than it took to re-post it as a direct link here.

Cyberon voice commander - won't install

Thank you for the pointer, and I'm sorry I didn't see it during my searching. However, it didn't work for me: I downloaded the file and got the CAB; once on my device, it started to install (I chose to install on a card rather than main memory - is that ok?) but then said

"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed
because it does not have sufficient system permissions"

any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,
This thread sent me off on a search that has been enlightening for me. I was familiar with Cyberon Voice Speed Dial, which required voice tags and was included with the second Verizon rom patch. Cyberon Voice Commander just seemed to be confused alot with Microsoft Voice Command on the boards so I didn't realize the distinction until now. Anyway, I can't help you with the CVSD installation problem other than to suggest that you install to the device. Here is a link to the XDA thread that has the CVC files you were originally looking for.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=260732&page=7
There's some discussion of patching executables from one version to another, so who knows if it works on Apaches. Good luck - there seem to be just as many if not more issues with CVC as with MSVC. Please post if it works. FWIW, here's the main Cyberon web site: http://www.cyberon.com.tw/index.php
I started my search looking for the registry tweaks that supposedly improve the voice recognition quality for MSVC - I didn't find them until the end - here's the link: http://www.howardforums.com/archive/...1059131-1.html
Of course if you use a kitchen-based rom with MSVC (all but the executable) already included, then the optimum tweaks have already been done. Don't give up on MSVC....I found I was most frustrated by:
a) failure to recognize "yes" - this was because I spoke too soon; slow down and give MSVC a chance to listen.
b) Background noise (worse with BT headset) - try the phone mic instead.
Once I accepted its limitations it became much easier to use.

Here's an alternate source for the CVSD. Might be the same file you got before, same size, different name - attached to first post in the thread: http://ppc6700users.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4866

VoiceCommander: how to make it Sync after ActiveSync runs?

Thanks!! I did finally get an installable version of VoiceCommander. Does anyone know how to make it actually initiate the sync by voice (or automatically), after it runs the ActiveSync program from voice prompt?

Mike
